I started a small haunt known as "Creep-Thru" last year. Not only was the name lame, but it had no real theme, aside from being in 3D [Chromadepth 3D Glasses]. However, we did put $1000 into the haunt, which is alot considering it was only our first year.
We were expecting really poor and negative reactions from everybody that traversed the 650 sq ft walkthrough, but instead all we got were thousands of screams and loads of thrilled trick-or-treaters. We estimate about 700 people, actually.
This year's haunt will be deemed "CreepShow," and it, unlike it's previous haunt, will have a theme. "Twisted Toy Shop" will be our canvas and the plans are all laid out. Ideas are still floating around, but what we have now is pretty awesome so far.
I recently contacted the owners of an abandoned mini-golf course nearby where I live, and I came so close to scoring some set pieces from the course itself, but alas the owners did not want to put up with the liability issues. Long story short: they'll contact me again when they decide to demolish the property.
I also currently have CreepShow '11 [yes, that's 2011] planned out. It is supposed to be hosted at my other friend Sara's house [she was our make-up artist for '07], but I'm thinking of bumping the plans up to '08 instead of '11, since I've already got every detail planned.
