Making props, corpsing skellies, trying out new ideas, learning how to use power tools (!). I have other, boring hobbies as well. I cook and bake, really well, and love to garden. I love planning Halloween, which I share with my husband. While I have never done anything I considered scary, my loved one is scary in how humorous he wants it to be. So from year to year, people can tell who created the theme for the year.

Haunted Mansion, Corpse Bride. Don't watch scary movies as a general rule. Must be why I rarely have any original ideas.

alternative, rock, jazz, blues. At Halloween, typical music from scary movies and rock.

Tony Morrison, Isabel Allende, TC Boyle, CS Lewis, JRR Tolkein, JK Rowling, Margaret Atwood, Louise Erdrich, Edith Wharton, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Thomas Pynchon, Joan Didion, Joyce Carol Oates.

Halloween, costumes, ToTs, creating a haunt, designing themes, being the biggest haunt in town! Candlelight, jazz, a glass of wine a good book, and kids that are asleep, in their beds, at a decent hour! Yeah, that's what I long for...But really, I do love Halloween. There's more info at www.myspace.com/booksnjazz.

ARGH! Kids without costumes; kids too old to be ToTs, altho I know a lot of people don't have that same hangup. People who lecture you on the inherent evilness of Halloween. People in the halloween stores who wander aimlessly and get in my way, dammit.

Librarian by trade, haunter by heart, SAHM of two kids in reality with a USNG husband regularly being deployed to the Middle East. I've always loved Halloween and finally gave in to the bug. Every year the yard becomes more elaborate and now I can choose what to use and not use depending on my theme. We've done pirates, a haunted plantation with a demon infested pumpkin patch, cemetary, voodoo room & nursery, UFO's and a swamp.

Greetings oh Hauntress. I have been assigned the unhappy task of being the "verifier of truth." In your "hobbies" section, you claim to like cooking and baking and that you are good at it. Since normal cooking and baking is not "on topic" certain steps must be taken to validate this.  As the unofficial official verifier of truth, it is therefore my job to test taste your goods. You will be required to bake a cake, (banana with white frosting), cookies (sugar, m&m & oatmeal raisin). You are also instructed to provide the tester (me) with a qt of very cold milk. At the conclusion of the testing process, should your claims be verified (which my take several attempts and multiple batches) you will be awarded a letter of validation. Also, you need to supply Digger, Pete and still unnamed persons with additional samples for cross validation testing processess. Thank you for your consideration in this most important of unimportant matters. Also, please make the sugar cookies in the shape of ghosts to put the whole topic on topic with the topic at hand. Severed hands are also acceptable.
