In November of 2008, I was exceptionally fortunate to inherit "The Haunt of Miss Rose" that Rob at SkullAndBone.com had so wonderfully crafted over the past five or more years. You can read the full story in my blog entry - A Haunter's Tale of Two Cities.
You can also listen to an awesome version of the story on the very first episode of Hauntcast as told by Revenant in his "News From Beyond" segment. My thanks to Rev and Chris Baker for featuring our story on their maiden voyage.
Please visit SkullAndBone.com to see more images of the original "Haunt of Miss Rose" and be sure to check out his must-read haunting tutorials on skeleton corpsing, haunt lighting and distressed clothing. You'll be glad you did.
Needless to say, I am honored and excited to carry on this renowned haunt and I am definitely looking forward to its future with us. As always, my profound and undying respect and gratitude to Rob for his faith, creativity and generosity. He truly is one of the classiest haunters around.
And to all the haunters and community members who have left me comments and kind words of encouragement or congratulations, I offer my sincere thanks. I can only hope to inspire some as so many have inspired me.
On Halloween 2009, House Bloodthorn presented "The Resurrection of Rose". Our first year displaying the haunt. With nearly 250 visitors on Halloween night, up from a mere dozen the previous year, it was a resounding success. The weather was perfect and everything went off without a hitch. We couldn't have asked for a better first run.
You can view images of the display by clicking on the Flickr button below. Likewise, you can view the video of the display by clicking the YouTube button below.
To top 2009 off, House Bloodthorn's The Resurrection of Rose was awarded Best Yard Haunt (Vanguard) 2009 by the Haunters Video Awards. You can read about it and find out how to get a copy of the Haunters Videos DVD set by clicking on the Blogger button below. Our thanks to everyone involved and our congratulations to all the other winners.
See you all in 2010!
