Anything having to do with magic, mystery and mayhem. And I'm reading 3 or 4 books a month now at least. How do you have that much free time you ask? Well, I've got a typical very long city commute to work so I use (shameless plug!) Audible.com and listen to a book on my MP3 player when driving back and forth to work each day! I highly recommend it.

I work for an Internet company, so from day to day you never really know if they'll be around or if you'll have a job. So to escape this day to day grind I fall into good books, suspenseful movies and music of all kinds. I live for my art be it soldering silver jewelry, beading or creating cool Halloween props, I find my true self in creation.

It’s February 2008, and I think I may finally recovered from 2007. It was a big year for me; I had major surgery the last week of February last year, my son graduated from college in June then got married in December. My check book is a little singed but it has stopped smoking. Now the flowers are starting to poke out from under the earth, it’s not raining every day in Seattle and that means it’s time to start planning my major prop builds for this year.

Last year we started on a haunted pirate ship theme and I think we’ll continue on that theme this year. I built a cannon that I had hoped would shoot dry ice smoke rings but it wasn’t a success. So it’s not plan B time for that prop. And this year I want to add a pipe organ into the mix. I love the one from Pirates of the Caribbean but don’t want it to be just a pirate theme item. So I’m thinking the rack of “pipes” need to look like wings. Still in the concept stage.
