A real true fan of Halloween my whole life. I have always loved looking at costumes. Today I design and construct costumes all year long. For custom work I have done in the past have included Anikin Skywalker, Superman (new version), Mexican wrestler, (mask, cape, top and shorts). I had to design the pattern for the cape and mask, he is a proffessional wrestler in Mexico. Even did a full length burial gown for a client. Every year for the past 6 years, I have worked for Spirit the Halloween store here in Bakersfield. I get tons of ideas for costumes and on occassion have to purchase some myself. My daughter who lives with me will be managing the store this year. We have so much stuff, I am planning to have a huge sale at the end of September. Brunswick is my cat and lives with me and my daughter's 2 cats, Halo and Star.
Every year for halloween I do something different to give out candy to the kids. One year I dressed up as a Gypsy and told fortunes before they got their treat, another year I was a chinese resturaunt owner and served up Dragon eyeball soup. I bought the take out boxes and put the candy and cooked up some spaghetti added a few eyeballs, centipdes and roaches and showed my victims what I had to offer. Some were grossed out, but I had to remind them it was trick or treat. Also threw in a fortune cookie in their bag. I did a crime scene one year and put crime scene tape all over the front porch. When they walked up I would jump up and yell "Who Dares To Enter My CHRIME SCENE???" Then I had to shoot teir candy down a tube. Scared a few of them, but it was all in fun. This year I haven't decided what to do. Maybe a Wheel of fortune of some sort. Or an automated fortune teller.
