"Scares That Care" is a not-for-profit benefit held once a year, to provide money, toys and other items to help sick children. Our goal is to raise a minimum of $10,000.00 by June 14th, 2008. We are currently at $6,206.04!
Come visit our store on CafePress!
Led by horror film director and retired police officer Joe Ripple, (who can also be found running the security for the Horrorfind Weekend), this benefit will utilize the fan base of the horror, haunt and Halloween genres to raise funds and awareness for sick children in need. We plan to have a GREAT time holding these benefits, by showing films, having silent auctions and maybe getting lucky enough to have a few celebrity appearances. Our success depends upon YOU.
Our first benefit was a huge success for Ms. Joy Dohler, the mentally challenged sister of the late Don Dohler. We were able to raise over $3,000.00 for her care!
Horror Fans care just as much about children as anyone else. We WANT to HELP! If you know of anyone that would be willing to help by donating time, horror or movie related items or other support -- please have them get in touch!
**We HAVE BEEN APPROVED by Johns Hopkins Children's Cancer Center! We have a letter of support, and a contact name and phone number, to verify that we are legitimately collecting money on their behalf!
YOU CAN DONATE VIA PAYPAL TO scares_that_care@yahoo.com!
