Obviously, Halloween, particularly designing and building props. However, I also enjoy reading (see Books section), writing scripts and music, playing and listening to all types of music. I play guitar and bass, and played trombone for 8 years (a long time ago). I'm also a fan of audio and video production (that's what I do for a living, besides writing) and have been a sound effects junkie for a long time. I also enjoy listening to Old Time Radio.

Many of the movies I enjoy are in black & white, but I'm not a snob about it; I like modern stuff too. I'm not a huge fan of Freddy/Jason slasher-type movies, I need more plot and interesting characters. A sense of irony doesn't hurt either. That being said, some of my favorite horror/sf movies include Alien, The Howling, the classic Universal monster movies (took my then 16-year-old son to see Creature from the Black Lagoon" in 3D a couple of years ago), the usual Tim Burton fare, and classic camp like "Killer Clowns from Outer Space", "Plan 9 from Outer Space" and "The Crawling Eye" starring Forest Tucker, whom some of you may remember as Sgt. Morgan O'Rourke of "F Troop" fame. I'm also a fan of early comedies from greats such as Laurel & Hardy, Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin, Marx Brothers, Harold Lloyd; screwball comedies like "Bringing Up Baby" and "Sullivan's Travels"; anything directed by Hitchcock or Tim Burton, and Monty Python in all of its glorious and ridiculous iterations, both on television and the silver screen.

Fairly eclectic tastes, from Cat Stevens to X. In high school, I grew up listening to what is now called Classic Rock, but college found me enjoying punk, rockabilly, ska, new wave, etc. I'm a huge fan of Elvis Costello, X and the Ramones, but I also have all the Cat Stevens and James Taylor albums/CDs as well. I enjoy Danny Elfman's film music, but a little Oingo Boingo goes a long way. There are a few new bands I enjoy, but Tucson radio pretty much sucks. My favorite station is my iPod; all good music and no commercials. I'm also a Spike Jones fan, and enjoy listening to Old Time Radio as well.

Humor & Horror: Several writers from the 20's and 30's; Robert Benchley, Thorne Smith, Max Shulman, H.P. Lovecraft. Also more contemporary authors such as Dave Barry, Harlan Ellison, Ray Bradbury, Stephen King, some Dean Koontz. I read a smattering of pretty much everything from technical journals to novels to bios, with the exception of romance novels and westerns.

See above . . . and below, because I actually filled out the rest of the profile without a smart-aleck answer.

Scriptwriter/cameraman/video editor and Halloween junkie. We do a cemetery (tombstones and various props, mostly all homemade) and an evil circus maze in our 3-car garage.
Married (known SWMBO since 7th grade, back when dinosaurs ruled the earth) with a 18-year-old son who is an Eagle Scout and all-around good kid. He got his first job at 16 . . . working at the local Spirit Halloween store. He too is a Halloween junkie, Monty Python fan and musician. Like many wives, mine says that she has two children. But as my dad used to say "What second childhood? I'm still in my first!"
