Title: Halloween 2008 (Year In Review)
Tags: STOLLOWEEN, Halloween, Midland MI, papier mache
Blog Entry: All things considered 2008 was a good year for me regarding prop building. Over the year I learned a tremendous amount and completed 64 new papier mache pieces. This was the first year that I really started working on my Halloween display in January and the work continued until the display was finally set up. This year I also had the good fortune to teach several papier mache workshops. The workshops were a positive experience, I met many great people and I think I learned as much (or more) than the students. In July I taught a dragon making workshop and in October I taught two pumpkin making workshops. Our local paper ran a feature on the Papier Pumpkin Palooza as it was called. http://ourmidland.com/articles/2008/10/21/local_news/doc48fca88510f9c966813065.txt Every year I promise myself I will have everything done by September and of course I end up working on props until the last minute…this year was no exception. Our yard was set up the Wednesday prior to Halloween and featured over 100 papier mache pieces. The weather was great with no wind or rain.
