Horror movies-what do we do ?
Posted On 01/06/2008 17:24:42 by Gloveman
Ok, in the past week or so I've seen 'Alien vs Predator' and 'One Missed Call.' Rather pedestrian mildly entertaining-I've certainly seen worse (remember 'Stigmata' a few years back?) My question is- as horror movie fans, do we support sequels and remakes in the hope that original horror movies will be greenlit (Hwood runs on money, ya know). Or do we ignore these and run the risk that horror is becoming a dead genre? (no pun intended).

For every 'Session 9' or 'Blair Witch', we get six more Friday the 13ths( I know I could be on thin ice here, as Jason has quite a following). I admit, I go see every horror movie my schedule allows-including all of Jason- so I might be contributing to a problem. Of course, sometimes it seems that any genre of movies is loaded with the same sequels/remakes/adaptations etc. etc. What do you all think?

I think, regardless to what WE want, Hollywood is going to do (& make) what Hollywood wants to do/make. I absolutely hate remakes unless the movie they are remaking sucked to begin with & with the remake, they are either going to get a strike two or make it to first base in my eyes.
