I've got (200) 13,000mcd LEDs sitting on my workbench. 5 of 'em hooked to 2 AAs are pretty fookin bright but they aren't heating up. Let the games begin! }:)
My spotlights last year weren't as bright and ran on 9V batteries, which worked well for compactness. However, I realized this posed a slight issue with practicality. You see, I now have a drawer full of 9V batteries, which are more expensive than AAs, that I can't use in anything else around here. AA batteries however, I have LOTS of things that can use those. My point is, after the big night, if the batteries aren't toast, I can use them up in my GPS, remotes, mini Mag light, etc. The 9V are just sitting there. Maybe they'll be good enough to use again this year, maybe not.
Thus the redesign of the lights. We'll see what I come up with.
In other news, I've also got (4) 2" and (4) 1" sheets of pink foam sitting the garage. Oh the joys of the home haunter today. :D
