I am interested in doing a DOLL THEME this year. Not little Barbie dolls spread out with their eyes painted over....something different.
I want my Haunt to be like a Factory that makes real size dolls out of human body parts. I was thinking of different room setups just recently:
1. Assembly Room: I will have actors dressed like Doll makers (black surgeon aprons, big gloves) and I want to try to avoid over usage of blood and gore. I want something more CREEPY. So the Doll Makers will have oversize needles and yarn, buttons, some rusty tools...etc.
I will make multiple dolls (using duct tape people and added a wig and creepy mask that is transparent), so will be missing limbs and being put together.
2. Make-Up Room: I will have 4 or 5 mirrors will writing on them, and dolls sitting in front of them, facing AWAY from trick-or-treaters. One will obviously be an actor. They would turn around slowly and get out of the chair zombie-like and walk towards guests. This could be very effective with the right type of movement and costume. I will have a table with a mixture of make-up and tools.
3. Packaging Room: This room will start off with fridge size boxes turned into doll packaging. So the front of the box will be cut out, clear poly will cover the hole, painted logo "Doll Factory" or something like that will be painted on, barcode and "made in MuddyRiverHaunt" could be painted on to.
I would like to have one EMPTY doll box (make it look like the doll escaped) and make the Trick-or-treaters walk through it to get to the next room.
On the other side of the box, I could have dolls suspended from the ceiling, all dressed the same and have an actor lurking around. The use of strobe lights and fog would make this room very scary.
I tried searching websites but it seems as if the Doll Theme is not really a popular one. Let me know if you have any comments or suggestions about these ideas, it would be much appreciated!
Happy Hauntings!!
