Over at the Make Magazine Blog, I spied this post about surplus TVs from the DTV switch.
It got me thinking. Haunting enthusiasts have a great use for such TV's : Pepper's Ghosts!
Here's a video tutorial from Big Scream TV. I think this company is defunct now, so the video effects DVDs they show may not be available any more. Additionally, Shawn and Lynne Mitchell cover this technique in their excellent book "How to Haunt Your House". You'll have to buy the book (which I highly recommend) to get their instructions. However you can download the Boney Video Clip they use in their own haunt, from their downloads page.
So hit your local thrift shop and look for those old TV's!
