The latest item in my gallery is the first stage of the EXTREME HORROR MAKEOVER of my coffin jumper, Jan (pronounced Yawn) Valek. The name came from John Carpenter's "Vampires". Usually when I make something I will do a rough draft. Meaning I will take the parts and put them together just to get a feel for how it's going to work and get an idea of any problems that might arise. Anyway he was still in "rough draft" form when last Halloween arrived and he was rushed into some clothes so that he could be displayed. The mechanics worked beautifully. So now that the inner beauty has proven itself, it's time to work on the outer beauty.
The skull, (legs and arms will turn up in future pics) came from a $10 Wal Mart groundbreaker skeleton set. Even though they are not a complete skeleton, I prefer them to the blucky because they are more realistic. The Frame is 1" schedule 40 PVC. The overall plan is to corpse him out and take his fixed arms and make the lunge out when he rises. The first two layers of the "flesh" consist of a layer of paper towel covered with a layer of stretchy spiderweb material covered in Liquid Flesh. I will be adding more pics as he progresses. ( If someone can tell me how to download pics off my computer and into the blog page that would be wonderful. So please take pity on the the computerally challenged idiot and lend a hand. It would be greatly appreciated.)
