My husband and his brothers recently went through some old photos, etc that had been in my inlaws attic for many, many years. While sorting through things, they came across fifteen vintage Halloween picture cards. My husband said he remembers them and they were his so we now have them. But he doesn't remember for sure where he got them....
I would love to be able to use them in some way in our haunt/party this year but can't come up with any good ideas for them yet. My scanner isn't working properly right now so I can't scan them in to show you but an example of one would be a black and white picture of Frankenstein outside a door and a caption under it that says "Wait til they find out I'm the new babysitter!" Another is a black and white (all are black and white pics) Creature (from the Black Lagoon) in the water and the caption says "Come on in! The water's fine!"
All are pictures from the really old horror movie classics with "funny" sayings as a caption. The sizes are approx 2 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches but that's no big deal as they can be enlarged to any size. The captions of course could be cut off once the pic was copied as well. My guess is these probably came from old packs of bubble gum. The back of these pics each has a number on them and says "You'll Die Laughing" across the top and then has a silly joke below that. At the bottom of the card is the copyright symbol and Universal Pictures Co. Inc.
It seems like too good of a find to me to not figure out a use for but I'm at a loss for any ideas on them. Any suggestions? (I mean other than put them back in the attic of course! lol) They are in great shape and I don't remember ever seeing these in the past, even though hubby and I are the same age. lol
Thanks in advance for any ideas you may have!
Edited to add: I'm still learning my way around this forum so hoping I am posting this in the right place.

If it were me, being the goofball that I am, I would enlarge them to 8 x 10 photos and frame them, placing them around like they were family photos. That's what I did with my autographed picture of Pee-Wee Herman....

OH! Good idea! I knew I wanted to enlarge them cause they are way too small to use for much but I couldn't think what to do with them. That's a great idea.
Thanks!

I remember those! I used to have them when I was a kid but I'm sure they are long gone as I haven't seen them in forever.
You could have them matted and framed together - like a collage. I'm not sure these are worth much but anything vintage Halloween is collectible so I'd advise to keep them in as good a shape as possible.
If you can scan a few in when you get a chance I'd love to see them. Fangs for the memories

You can print them out, glue them on cardboard and hang them as ornaments.

Why don't you place them in an old Photo album calling them your Family, or use them as your family tree, from the beginning of your blood line to the present. You could place captions under each picture saying who they were, date and what deviliosuly things they were involved in, such as:
Frankenstein, Born 1780...died by fire 1782. He was a part of every one he new (since he had a part of several people, arm here, leg there)
I know this is corny but I'm sure you could think of something better to say.

I was thinking ornaments too! They have crystal clear balls that you can take the top off of it (carefully, of course!) & you can put a pic inside each ball. Most people use clear adhesive glue & actually make a copy of each photo, glue them back to back, so that if the ornament turns, you get the same image on both sides. They can be hung on a Halloween tree & a Christmas tree!
LOL @ D.E.M.! Great idea!

chainsawcharlie, I'll get them scanned and posted as soon as I'm able to find my scanner software...been busy and then sick so haven't had time to look for it yet. Mail postcards of them? I'm not sure I know how to make them in post card form first of all....and second, mail them to you?
