My question is:

Why is it that people always eager to help scare people in haunts. But, that they don't help build it?

Or they offer to help build it but, then make  themselves scarce until it's built.

It's like the example of the Witch that bakes the best pies ever! Everyone wants to share in eating the pie. But no one will help gather supplies, or help make it.

I don't get it. The building is at least half the fun! Guess you have to be the creative kind to get into it?

Have the same problem!  Thank God for family......(that enjoys the actor part).  We set the rules a few years ago..........if you don't help build it don't plan on acting in it!  It took some conviction the first year but it worked!

How right you are!!!  We struggle every year with the same thing.... even our staff don't always follow through.   3 of us kill ourselves all year and then everyone shows up to play and wonders why we are so tired, crabby, & bitter. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm... wish we could just play too!!!

I agree with jekellandhyde, building is part of the fun of running a haunted house. I enjoy every aspect of it, except for the tear-down, because that means the season is over, but then I get happy again when I realize that I get to start thinking of stuff for the next season.

Some people just don't know the fun they are missing out on.

we had SO many that claimed they wanted to help, but when it came down to it, it was Danny, Josh, Russell and myself who did 99% of the work.

seems to be a universal problem with all haunters.
