I'm big into spiders this year - plastic ones, rubber ones, glow in the dark ones, skeletal ones, paper ones, furry ones, paper ones, cobwebs everywhere, you can even wrap up a doll or stuffed animal in cobwebs and set it somewhere (so cute).
They are creepy, yet not gory, good for a public venue like a coffee shop. You can even make cookies or cupcakes with a spider web in icing. Place a spider ring (available at Halloween stores or dollar stores) around the handle of the coffee cups.

Don't forget the rubber rats! And how about a skeleton wearing an apron and hair net or chef's hat? You could maybe get some black silk roses, or spray paint red ones with flat black paint, and put them on the tables or counters. Don't forget the jack-o-lanterns! Good luck...post pictures!

Another thought...if you play "background" music, pick up a couple of Nox Arcana or Midnight Syndicate Cd's...very creepy ambience music.

I have to chime in a bit even though it is really only to agree with those above. Definetly hit the dollar store, lots of good stuff can be found there! Look for a "Spirit Halloween store" near you , they also have a ton of great stuff, everything from large stand up props to small trinkets and such. Also music is a must! As stated a good Nox Arcanum or Midnight Syndicate (my favorite) will really set the mood. Another cheap item to get but with a big impact would be flicker bulbs for any lamps or lights....the glass itself is shaped a little like a flame and they don't put out a lot of light but they do give some great ambience.

Woo Hoo!! COFFEE!!! anyway... I am sooooo seeing a skeleton sitting in a chair at a table, cup-o-joe in front of him with cob webs from hand to cup.... and a sign with something like 'Our service is killer' or at the other end of the spectrum "so, what's it take to get a refill???" or "our coffee will bring you back from the dead"..... get creative and have FUN!!!!!
