I need a make up that wont run when I sweat. This Halloween I was runnin around as chainsaw again and started sweating... I used liquid latex to distort my face and cream make up to cover up the very white latex. I was also using this scab make up and it ran too. what do I used that will take the abuse of my sweat glands?? lol

You basically have three options: a mask, RMG (Rubber mask grease paint), or airbrushed makeup. Each has benefits and drawbacks.

Mask:

Benefits are no runny makeup and scare factor.

Drawbacks are limited peripheral vision and you get a lot hotter.

RMG:

Benefits are a lot less runny, tends to last a long time, as well as you have your peripheral vision, so you don't run into as many things.

Drawbacks are that if you sweat profusely, it can still run, and depending on the brand, you have to have a special type of remover.

Airbrushed:

Benefits are that it almost never runs, can look super creepy, and is very durable.

Drawbacks are pricing(airbrush makeup systems can run from $75-$1,000+), removability, as you need a special remover to take it off, and tendency to cause allergic reactions in people with sensitive skin.

Having used all three of these methods, I suggest going with RMG, unless you can afford an airbrush system.

Go w/ a pro make-up foundation. MAC makes a couple really good ones. I dont know their trade names as i have not used them personally but i know that the face characters at Disneyland use them - both for work and personally. They will provide a great barrier between your skin and your "character" make-up.

MAC is an upscale make-up so it can set you back. But, if it works for you it'll pay for itself.

i have worked with ben nye make up at the haunt and i love it !!!   they have a sealer to use with an airbrush or a powder to use with a brush !!!!  the airbrush sealer is the one i used the most because you can use it on the make up and the blood to help it from running !

for my actors and i we use graftobian grease paint.

usually end up picking up a color wheel and it will last you a good while.

the major thing with grease paint is, YOU MUST USE AN ASTRINGENT/ALCOHOL AND WIPE DOWN YOUR FACE BEFORE YOU APPLY! ALSO SET THE MAKEUP WHEN YOU ARE DONE! use a powder brush/sponge and some no color powder (baby powder). and lightly cover your makeup after it is applied, if not the grease paint will wipe right off.

I work at Bloodview... And had the same kind of problem... use Barrier spray... if you sweat a lot/... use it more... Ben Nye  makes it... so does Graftobian... it literally creates a barrier between your face and the make-up/latex you use... just a few or more than few spritzes and your golden

We use and carry in our store Wolfe FX and Graftobian.  The air brush paints stays on very well and we don't retouch our actors throughout the evening.

You can buy airbrush systems much cheaper now.
