does anyone know what kind of foam is used as the filler for the latex prop bodies? it's soft and non-absorbant foam material...

It's called soft expanding polyurethane foam. It's a two part system in liquid form that expands as it turns to foam. You can get it from monstermakers.com

Gotta love MonsterMakers...those guys were alway so helpful.  They can even give you an estimate on how much you will need based on the size of your project.

They also have a lot of great tutorials on their site as well...video and written.
