Creep up a Potion Bottle

Grinner asked me to post a How to on Creeping up your Potion Bottles. At our Mini Meeting we had made one like this....  



First pick your bottle and paint. I use Gallery Glass paint from Plaid. It is designed for making your own faux Stained Glass. Once it's one it's on. I did up our back door 5 years ago, it's still in tact! I find the paint ay Hobby Lobby, but am sure you could contact your local craft store and see if they carry it. It runs $1.99 each. I choose Ruby Red and the Crackle Medium. The Crackle give it that old worn look! They also have a cool Etching Medium too. They have MANY colors to pick from! You can see the paint comes out a pale red/pink, but it will dry dark. Remember this paint is ment to be translucent-glass, So I gave this bottle 4 coats. It dries very quickly, and using a fan helps. There is the part 1- dry and ready for crackle. I could not get a good pic of the crackle paint. It is a milky white. You do not need too much of this paint. I put a streak down the center of the bottle about the width of toothpick, and it covered the whole piece. This is what you get when the Crackle Medium dries.... I added my label I found at Michaels, and TA DA. The whole thing took 1 hour. Have fun!! I'd love to see any bottles anyone is making too!!!
