Christmas led candles

Led flicker tapered candle

A few years ago I started shopping the Christmas section to find things to use for my haunted maze. Seems like every year I find something else that can be used for our "other hauntingly good purposes". Sylvania makes a white tapered base with either a  orange or white led flicker flame. They sell them in either a single candle or a package of six. Each candle is powered by two AA batteries. Some models actually turn off automatically after 18 hrs.

I have used these for two years in a row for low level haunt lighting. In 2008 I used them to guide passages that patrons might miss in the darkness. That accomplished two things, it lengthened their experiences in the haunt & it made sure they didn't miss anything. Since they don't use a flame, they are safe to use in closed environments without worry of fire.

Since the inital time that these candles became available, many varietys of them are sold now by different manufactures. When I first bought them they were only sold for $6 each or $30 6 pk. Have spotted variations of them at Walgreens for $2 each (white led flame only) or a orange led flame four pack at Ace Hardware for $12. (batteries not included)

Led pillar candle

I have used these as also for my haunt, & they work well more for a display high light for a scene. The only place that I've seen them stocked year round is at Walmart. They are white in color, scented (two choices of scents) & come in either 2 3/4x 3 3/4 or 6 inches. Powered by two AA batteries, sold seperately.

Being that both styles are battery powered, it makes it easier to place where ever you want in a haunt (without worry of enough power to feed everything).
