A charity haunt in Cranston, RI.
Haunted Labyrinth is the longest-running haunted attraction in Rhode Island. Customers follow a path of twists & turns and long, dark corridors. The backbone of the Labyrinth's scares is the Element-of-Surprise. Rather than using blood and gore, catching the unprepared customers off-guard makes the Haunted Labyrinth the best haunted attraction in New England. The Haunted Labyrinth is the major fundraiser for the Rejoice in Hope CYO. Here are some facts about Haunted Labyrinth 2006:
- At least three different wallpaper patterns were used in the hall of doors.
- Out of all the spiders in the suite, there was one scorpion.
- There were two rooms with fake exits-- Library: had to walk through a bookcase; Kitchen: had to walk through the refrigerator.
- The sink in the bathroom had running water. This was the first water element in the Haunted Labyrinth.
- All the rats in the kitchen faced the refrigerator door, as a subliminal message to where the exit was.
- The plant in the atrium is the Little Shop of Horrors plant.
- The cobwebbing was made with a hot glue gun rigged with an air compressor hose.
- Was supposed to be an old 1940s hotel. There were 2 electric stoves in the kitchen.
- First year in at least 8 years without a glow-in-the-dark room.
- Above the pool table in the billiards room was the portrait of dogs playing poker.
- The pool table had no pockets.
- In the laundry room, a bag of money sat on a shelf with a sign under it saying, "Needs to be laundered".
- The Sprague Mansion was painted in one of the cafe windows. The Sprage Mansion is right next door to the Haunted Labyrinth, and is supposidly haunted.
- The committee could not come up with an aggreement for the name of the hotel. "Don Marco" (one of the staff person's nicknames) was suggested as a joke. The name stuck.
- Don Marco is a master crayon artist.
- There is a Don Marco hotel in Spain.
- The car horn was actually a train horn.
- A book in the library was screwed onto the bottom of one of the shelves.
- There was originally plans for 2 floors, with an attic scene on the second floor. The first floor was built with hallways for the staircases. The second floor could not be accomplished and 1/4 of the house had to be redesigned.
- There was a skeleton in the closet.
- There was oringinally going to be chickens hanging from the ceiling in the kitchen (and also 1 pink flamingo), but the novelty store was sold out of rubber chickens.
- The bathroom had a flower stamp pattern on the walls. There were 9 skeleton and cross bones scattered throughout the pattern in the entire bathroom. After all the props, doors, and boo windows were put in, only 2 of the skeleton and cross bones could be clearly seen.
