I was just wondering which of the 2 groups you feel make better music for a haunted attraction. I have thought about getting the Nox Arcana 'Carnival of Lost Souls' cd, because I think a few songs would be good for a carnival haunt I am wanting to do, and one of the songs being perfect for my clown character.

So which of the two groups do you think works best?

Both for variety is the spice of life.
And why would anyone want to limit their choices for haunt music?

Yes, Carnival of Lost Souls is a good cd. But so is the following: Vol 15 Circus of Freaks, Midnight Circus (both by Gore-Galore), & Klown by Virgil

Oh and regarding your question.

I think that Nox and MidSyn have wonderful works.  In fact, I'm sure that Nox will tell you about how they were both intertwined at one point.  I won't talk out of school too much though.

I am not really familiar with Midnight Syndicate's stuff so I can't comment on who is better. (Yeah, I know...I gotta get with the program!) However I really like Nox Arcana, and used their Carnival of Lost Souls for my Carnival of Terror theme last year. It worked out great! I also played it at my party and I had several people ask me about it. I threw in a couple tracks from the old Horror Circus CD too, which was fun.

I just bought a couple of Midnight Syndicate CDs, and while they are great to listen to, I feel they are too quiet and slow for the haunt atmosphere I want.  I think I want a faster, more upbeat sound, but that it just me. My haunt also doesn't have much in the way of sounds from other props or actors.

Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor is very nice and gothic.

I guess it depends on what you are looking for.
