Cool new project finished

I just finished a project last night that turned out pretty cool looking.  If any of you have the pebble rock front yards like I do then this is great addition to your yard haunt.

I bought 40 feet of 1X1/12 inch PVC pipe at 10 foot pieces for a total of 4 pieces of PVC pipe.  I cut them down to 4 foot and 7 foot sections for easier managability and storage. Everything cost about 40 bucks for the couplers and elbow connectors.

I dug a U shaped trench around my yard just deep enough to cover the PVC.  I drilled holes into each section, about 4 holes in the 4 foot sections and 5-6 in the 7 foot sections.  I then connected each piece of PVC with a coupler (I used about 16) and two right angle couplers to create the U shape.  I then buried the PVC being careful to not cover the holes.  I thought about putting small pieces of screen over the holes so dirt wouldn't clog the holes but I ended up not doing that.  The pebble rock was just big enough that it covered the pipe and holes but didn't clog them.  I put an S shaped connector to each end of the whole U shaped contraption so that when it came out of the ground at each end the opening of the PVC was just above ground level.  I then set up two fog machines on timers on either end and set them at the longest duration and to come on about every minute or so.

When the fog machines start up I get a nice layer of fog that comes up out of the ground all through my haunted grave yard.  The effect is really cool, especially when it passes in front of my colored lights and rolls across my coffin lids that I've got semi buried in the ground.

It took me about a day and a half to do this project and that was working a little bit at a time.  It could easily be done in a day depending on your yard size.  I'm going to just leave it in all year round because you can't even see it and I don't feel like digging and burying it again next year, lol.  It's basically like a drip system for fog.

I was very impressed with the look and figured I'd share it with the rest of my Halloween freaks.

What a great idea!

I think I may steal that one for my
rocky yard too, especially since I haven't got all the rocks down yet
and  it will be easy to lay the PVC.

Thanks
