Joke of the day/night??
Posted On 05/12/2007 20:40:21

Joke of the day:

A very shy guy goes into a bar and sees a beautiful woman sitting at the bar.  After an hour of gathering up his courage he finally goes over to her and asks, tentatively, "Um, would you mind if I chatted with you for a while?"

She responds by yelling, at the top of her lungs, "No, I won't sleep with you tonight!" Everyone in the bar is now staring at them.

Naturally, the guy is hopelessly and completely embarrassed and he slinks back to his table.

After a few minutes, the woman walks over to him and apologizes. She smiles at him and says, "I'm sorry if I embarrassed you. You see, I'm a graduate student in psychology and I'm studying how people respond to embarrassing situations."

To which he responds, at the top of his lungs, "What do you mean $200?"

He said.... She said

He said.... She said

He said . . . I don't know why you wear a bra; you've got nothing to put in it.

She said .. . You wear
pants don't you?

 He said ...Shall we try swapping positions tonight?
She said ... That's a good idea - you stand by the
ironing board, while I sit on the sofa.

He said . . . What have you been doing with all the
grocery money I gave you?
She said . . .Turn sideways and look in the mirror!

On a wall in a ladies room ... "My husband follows
me everywhere" Written just below it . . . " I do not"

Q. How many honest, intelligent, caring men in the
world does it take to do the dishes?
A. Both of them.

Q. How does a man show that he is planning for the
future?
A. He buys two cases of beer.

Q. What is the difference between men and government bonds?
A. The bonds mature.

Q. How many men does it take to change a roll of
toilet paper?
A. We don't know; it has never happened.

Q. Why is it difficult to find men who are sensitive,
caring and good-looking?
A. They already have boyfriends.

Q. Why are married women heavier than single women?
A. Single women come home, see what's in the fridge and go to bed. Married women come home, see what's in bed and go to the fridge.

Q. What is the one thing that all men at singles bars have in common?
A. They're married.

Man says to God: "God, why did you make woman so beautiful?" God says: "So you would love her."

But God," the man says, "why did you make her so
dumb?" God says: "So she would love you."

THE GIRL IN THE GRAVEYARD

THE GIRL IN THE GRAVEYARD

Laura was missing again!  Everyone in the house looked both inside, and on the grounds, carrying their flashlights.  For the past 3 months, the young widow seemed to vanish in the middle of the night.  She was always back in her bed in the morning, but no one knew where she had been.

  As for Laura, either she didn't remember, or was unwilling to talk about it.  She was wearing a short, ruffled white nightgown when she went to bed.  She apparently was barefoot, because her bedroom slippers were still by the bed.  Her sister Jayne had seen her earlier, heading toward the bathroom.  Laura had stared through her and the suspicion crossed her mind that perhaps she was sleepwalking.  But when she went on in the bathroom, she figured maybe she was just still drowzy.

Laura had moved back into the large family mansion after her husband had died in a car accident.  He was buried in an old graveyard adjacent to their property.  She put flowers on his grave every day, whatever was in season.  It was late spring in Mississippi, so she had been putting magnolias there recently.

 The thought of the beautiful young woman wandering around at night in a thin nightgown, was certainly scary.  Jayne decided to call the caretaker of the cemetary and wake him up, just on the chance that Laura might be there.  'Old Jim' is what everyone called the caretaker, and he set off with his flashlight to see if she was there.  As he came closer to the area where Charlie was buried, he heard a howling sound.  It sounded like a creature in great agony, and it scared him.  But he was pretty brave, and so he kept walking.

Then he saw Laura.  She was in an area with the ruins of an old chapel, and not too far from Charlie's grave.  She was on her knees, her hands curled into claws, howling with grief and pain.  Her head was thrown back, her long black hair cascading down past her waist.  Her short gown was plastered to her body and covered with sweat, dirt and grass stains.  The full moon shone down on her, it was as if she was howling or praying to the moon, for relief from her pain.

 Old Jim was afraid to wake her, so he just stood there trying to decide what to do.  The howls were heart-wrenching to hear, and tears streamed down his face.  He had known Laura all her life, and was very fond of her and her late husband.

Then suddenly, a howl answered her.  A huge wolf came into the clearing, and stood in from of her.  Laura stopped howling and put her arms around the wolf.  He nuzzled her face and comforted her, licking away her tears.  Before Old Jim's astonished eyes, the wolf shimmered and Charlie appeared.

He helped her to her knees, and kissed her.  Neither said a word, but he led her over to his grave, and they both disappeared into the ground in front of his gravestone.

Apparently, she had decided to join him in death, since she could not bear living without him.  Old Jim kept his experience to himself, lest he be disbelieved and blamed in some way.  And Laura's family never did find her or know what happened.  Eventually, they assumed she had died and put her a tombstone next to her husband's.  Jayne put magnolias on their graves every spring, and watered them with her tears.

"Who Were The Witches"

"Who Were The Witches"

Who were the Witches, where did  they come from?
Maybe your great, great, grandmother was one.
They were the wise, wise, women they say,
And there's a little Witch in every person today.

Witches knew all of the flowers and weeds,
How to use all the roots  and the stems and the seeds.
When people were weary from hard working days,
They made them feel better in so many ways.

 When women had babies, the Witches were there,
To heal and to hold and to give them good care.
They honor the cauldron where all life began,
Do  you want to be one?  Well, maybe you can!

Some people say that the Witches are bad.
Some people fear all of the  power they had.
But the power to heal and to help and to cure,
Is nothing  to fear, it is something to share.

Labyrinth Journey

May we walk with grace,and may the light of the universe
shine upon our path.
 unknown

 Our lives are busy, complicated and hurried. We often do not make the time and space for our own personal and professional renewal. We experience stress and we risk burnout when we do not take this time to tend to ourselves. This neglect may lead to physical and emotional distress.

Provide time and space for quiet reflection and meditative labyrinth walks, with an emphasis on how to refocus our thoughts and energy and reconnect with what is important in our lives.

The experience of grieving the loss of a loved one through death, divorce, or other transition is physically, emotionally, and spiritually exhausting. After a significant loss, many people feel isolated, uncertain, and vulnerable.

The Labyrinth allow the participants to explore the complex dimensions of bereavement without judgment and begin the transformation that, in time, is possible for those who have experienced loss and grief.

members of neighborhoods, community groups, or other constituencies, gather together to acknowledge differences and challenges and to build bridges as they walk the same path.

The Frog

Once upon a time,

~~~~~~~~
in a land far away,
~~~~~~~~

a beautiful, independent,

~~~~~~~~
self-assured princess
~~~~~~~~

happened upon a Big fat frog

 as she sat,

~~~~~~~~
contemplating ecological issues
~~~~~~~~

on the shores of an unpolluted pond

~~~~~~~~
in a verdant meadow near her castle.
~~~~~~~~

The frog hopped into the princess' lap

~~~~~~~~
and said:" Elegant Lady,
~~~~~~~~

I was once a handsome prince,

~~~~~~~~
until an evil witch cast a spell upon me.
~~~~~~~~

One kiss from you, however,

~~~~~~~~
and I will turn back
~~~~~~~~

into the dapper, young prince that I am

~~~~~~~~
and then, my sweet, we can marry
~~~~~~~~

and set up housekeeping in your castle

~~~~~~~~
with my mother,
~~~~~~~~

where you can prepare my meals,

~~~~~~~~
clean my clothes, bear my children,
~~~~~~~~

and forever

~~~~~~~~
feel grateful and happy doing so. "
~~~~~~~~

That night,

~~~~~~~~
as the princess dined sumptuously
~~~~~~~~

on lightly sautéed frog legs

~~~~~~~~
seasoned in a white wine
~~~~~~~

and onion cream sauce,

~~~~~~~~
she chuckled and thought to herself:
~~~~~~~~

           I don't freakin think so!

Unexplained Ghostly Phenomenon.
Posted On 05/12/2007 20:09:05

This is a car advertisement from Great Britain. When they finished filming the ad, the film editor noticed something moving along the side of the car, like a ghostly white mist. The ad was never put on TV because of the unexplained ghostly phenomenon. Watch the front end of the car as it clears the trees in the middle of the screen and you'll see the white mist crossing in front of the car then; Is it a ghost, or is it simply mist? You decide. www.jaypoc.com/movies/

"Only in Louisiana" A Ghost Story
Posted On 05/12/2007 20:07:20

A Louisiana Ghost Story

This happened just outside a little town in the bayou country of Louisiana, and while it sounds like an Alfred Hitchcock tale, it's real.This guy was on the side of the road hitchhiking on a real dark night in the middle of a thunder storm. Time passed slowly and no cars went by.

It was raining so hard he could hardly see his hand in front of his face. Suddenly he saw a car moving slowly approaching and appearing ghostlike in the rain. It slowly crept toward him and stopped.

Wanting a ride really badly the guy jumped in the car and closed the door, only then did he realize that there was nobody behind the wheel.

The car slowly started moving and the guy was terrified, too scared to think of jumping out and running.

The guy saw that the car was slowly approaching a sharp curve,
still too scared to jump out, he started to pray and begging for his life; he was sure the ghost car would go off the road and in the bayou and he would surely drown, when just before the curve, a hand appeared thru the driver's window and turned the steering wheel, guiding the car safely around the bend.

Paralyzed with fear, the guy watched the hand reappear every time they reached a curve.

Finally the guy scared to near death had all he could take
and jumped out of the car and ran to town. Wet and in shock, he went into a bar and voice quivering, ordered two shots of whiskey, then told everybody about his supernatural experience.

A silence enveloped and everybody got goose bumps when they realized the guy was telling the truth and not just some drunk.

About half an hour later...

Two guys walked into the bar and one says to the other,"Look Boudreaux, ders dat idiot that rode in our car when we was pushin it in the rain.
