I'm feeling disgusted because the winds in my area have been rediculous...I had to bring a bunch of props in today for fear of finding them down the road...however, I'm also feeling inspired...I just watched on HGTV a show called Halloween Extreme or maybe it was the other way around, whatever.....they featured Halloween enthusiasts and their personal yard haunts, knick-knacks and such....I'm curious...were any of you featured on that show, if so don't be shy..let us all know.....everyone on that show was great..if they aren't a part of our haunt family they need to be.......

So...I've been stressing over getting everything done, after all Halloween is literaly just around the corner. We worked our tails off this weekend getting the yard set-up...it is still not complete, some of my props still need to be completed and the completed scene will only be seen on Halloween, Hee Hee, I made a rhyme....due to strategically placed glow sticks and live volunteer haunters.

I was happy to see every neighbor drive by and slow down, stare, give me the thumbs up or stop and make an encouraging comment..after all I'm doing it for all of them...well sort of ...you all know it's really for my haunting pleasure!!!

I am fortunate to have neighbors across the street who are setting up a small yard haunt also... we plan on double-teaming all the trick-or-treators!!

Much to my surprise and delight, even after all the disgreements about props, lighting, this thing and that thing, my yard is pretty darn creepy as of tonight..and it doesn't even have the happy corpses or scarecrow yet..the lighting and the music/effects CD I had on gave me the willies and I should know better....

Well, I hope to get some good pics posted, but we all know pics don't always do us justice..I'm just glad I have the neighborhodd buzzing

I bought 5 wigheads when I only planned on buying 1 for my scarecrow head...well I did my scarecrow head and said "Hey, let's do another, but in a much easier and time efficient manner"...so then I did another and another...they all have similar looks, so we'll call this year's babies M.F. corspsies...M.F. standing for MummiFied....I'll bet next Halloweeen's dead buddies will look much different..you know how..when you have a good thing going don't change a thing..that's what happened this year....I plan to start a prop sketch book right after Halloween this year and I hope some of you like or will like some of my creations or creations-to-be enough to want instructional How To's AMY---formally frustrated artist...

All I can say is I never expected to be so sore and so tired from making props.....you see this is my first year doing an official yard haunt and I had no idea how time consuming prop-making would be.....If I had I would have started many months ago...I'll be much more prepared for 2007, that's for sure...anyway, I spent Sunday cutting out numerous headstones, spending much of the afternoon in a squat position (I cut them out on the lawn)..I woke up with the most intense pain in my inner thighs with equal pain in my upper back, neck etc....forget about pilates, headstone cutting gives a better core workout!!! Monday I worked all day and today I was back to carving and base-coating the stones...currrently I'm spent...my back is beat!!!! But you know what friends....I LOVE IT!!!!! It just means I am that much closer to completion....anyone else have this type of experience????

Hey everybody---pay no attention to my latest poll if it does get accepted by admin...I started writing it and after the second entry, I accidently hit enter and it submitted my poll...there are 2 other options missing from there, so if it does get posted, I'm going to delete it and repost it with all the answer options...by the way the question asks something about Family feelings on your haunt obsession...once again blow it off for now...if posted, I will delete it...

For all you TAPS fans....I was so excited when I saw the announcement on Sci-Fi tonight that Ghost Hunters will be airing their new season on Wed. Oct. 11...yahooo, I was a little concerned they might not be returning, but thank goodness Wednesday nights will be hauntingly good fun again.......

Take a look at my little bat in my gallery...Halloween came early this year.....I was working on a tombstone and my hubby comes home, walks in the door and announces..."I have something more Halloween than you have.." and he shows me this adorable bat that someone retrieved from a house...my husband happily brought it home and we set him free in our garden....this was the only pic I was able to get--once the lid was off, his radar kicked in and he scrambled away...he was soooooooooo cute!!!!!!!

I had an awful night..I barely slept. This is the second time this has happened in the past couple of weeks...I was working on a couple of props before I went to bed (very late) and I tossed and turned all night..I had a dream some time this morning that it was Halloween and I was not ready..people were coming to the house and my yard haunt was not set up yet...I was freaking out!!! I was sreaming at my poor husband to hurry up and get the lighting set up...do this , do that!!!! I was losing it!! I had the same dream about 1-2 weeks ago..same issue, same feelings, different scene of course, after all it was a dream.....I hope.... Is this happening to anyone else????? I think I might just be a spazzzzz...
