SO I went there yesterday and they had an endcap of the BIG props and the blow up Gemmy things. Now I don't put those up, but they have a big black cat that turns it's head that was pretty neat. But the thing that made my day and had me smiling all the way to work, the 6 ft talking witch prop with the fogging cauldron that I searched for ALL YEAR and she's only $150!!!! That's $100 cheaper from last year!!!! Of course, then I got to work at it became a complete cluster because of one person trying to get her spa services for free and nearly got me fired, GGRRRRRRR!!! It's ok, I'll be getting my witch by Friday and that will be AWESOME!!!!
I almost forgot, I confirmed with the store manager that Lowes WILL carry Lemax pieces this year, so maybe all the stuff that Michaels isn't getting they will. They actually have zombie hooker figures! They are being called "brothel women" but how funny is that? (I apologize to anyone offended by the word "hooker", but that's what they are)
So I had the idea to do Addams Family theme for my pugs at our fundraiser this year, but the lady who does the costumes won't email me back, so I have to come up with something that doesn't require sewing. Sigh...
So, I was thinking simple this year. TIC TAC TOE X's and O's. The design problem is how do I make the cardboard X's and O's comfortable for the dogs? If anyone has an idea on how to do this, please let me know... 
So I was at Michaels today(big surprise right) and I heard a little kid screaming his head off in terror from the Halloween section. So as I walked back that way to see what was up and it was in fact a small boy FREAKING OUT over the talking headless bride. I just smiled at the sound as I walked out knowing that will be repeated in 81 DAYS!!!!!
Pictures of my Big Lots find! For $ 8.40 each I think I can handle a bit of spray paint to fix them up !! I figure I'll put 2 styrofoam balls on top and then the lawn crosses that I found at Wally world on the top of those. Most likely they'll be grey, with some moldy green accents and a bit of black and brown to accent too. I want OLD New England, by the sea looking. Sorry it's so dark, stupid camera phone...
It's almost electric!! I can feel the change in season coming(even though it was 105 here today) and I can't wait!! Going to Big Lots today helped cuz I found the pillars for the masoleum that is going around the power box in front of the house. On CLEARENCE NO LESS! $8.40 each!! (Picture to come) I couldn't believe it when they told me I had to RENT a shopping cart!!! For $0.25!! I guess they've had to many stolen and now you have a lock system on the carts. You put in the quarter, unlock the cart and when you return it, you get your quarter back. Isn't that the craziest thing you've ever heard?? I was shocked! I understand the thoughts behind it, but holy crap!!! I stopped at Dollar Tree and found that they have small paint brush sets (about 10 or so brushes) and the craft sticks (they look like tongue depressors) for my Lemax display I'm starting. PLUS I stopped at Michaels today and ALL the good stuff was out. The props and everything, making the debt I plan to be in at that store much deeper! I got some fog juice to test that screamin deal of a fog machine I found at Goodwill for $2.50 and while I tested it, the future husband walked in and asked what happened because the WHOLE downstairs of my house was FILLED with fog! When I explained where I got it and for how much, he was SO excited! He wanted to go to Goodwill again to see if they had more. I knew they wouldn't so I told him to wait and that stuff would be coming soon. He said that it was too bad that we couldn't get the fog to lay close to the ground and WHAM I hit him with the cauldron chiller idea and he was hooked! (For those of you who don't know, my fiance only gets excited about this obsession ususally after everything is up, but the rest of the year it annoys him. For him to be thrilled now is a major big step in the right direction!) I am SOOOO excited I can hardly stand it!!!
Sorry if I rambled there a bit. I was thinking faster than I can type.... hehehehe
I was at Lowes to day for sprinkler heads and I found a treasure instead!! This was in the "seasonal" section with all the gardening stuff. It was only $12.97!! It's about 18 1/2" high and 10" across. Sorry the picture is so dark, I thought it would come out better...
For about 3 months I've been trying to get the lady who did my pugs costumes last year to be interested in this years costumes and she doesn't seem to be available, so I turn the HS family to see if I can get some help here. I'm happy to pay for shipping, time, and materials. I just wanted to get started ASAP, because not unlike everyone else here, I'm going to be super busy the next 89 DAYS!!! YAY!!! Drop me a line if anyone can help me out!
YEah I said I wouldn't go there till the Halloween stuff was all out, but I couldn't help it, I went. And what do I find, the beginnings of the Halloween season. YAY!! So, I found this little thing that was sooooo stinkin cute I had to buy the 3 cards. LOL
The frog actually sings about what will we do if the witch comes back and SHAKES when it talks about what the witch will do to them. The top frog chimes in every few bars. I laughed so hard the girl at the store thought I was gonna pee myself. I wish I could get a video, but I'm sure someone else here will see it!!
