New clay pics
Posted On 10/10/2007 19:54:10

I've added about a dozen new images of clay pieces to the Haunted Clay group. They've all been made in the last two years and most were made early this year. We have enough pieces now to set up a scene just with polymer clay props.

With some grass and moss and other ground cover, the area covered by all of the pieces would be about 3' wide and 18" deep. At least that's my guestimate....math is NOT my best subject. We've discussed playing with LED's for lighting, but so far it's just discussion.

Please stop by the Haunted Clay group and let us know whatcha think. Ideas welcome.

Platform 10.05.07
Posted On 10/05/2007 17:39:13

Just can't clay these days, so playing with combining papier mache and tile grout mixed with glue.

Uploaded pics of the first attempt, a platform for the Gothic Ruins building from Lemax Spooky Town. It's crumbling, so it will still need to be sealed. So far, it's been drying for about 10 hours. Thin I'll give it another day before attempting to seal.

Great Stuff!
Posted On 09/29/2007 16:25:58

We got some Great Stuff today! After reading about it and seeing what could be done, we bid on some at ebay and got two 20 oz. cans for $12.00 including postage.

Now we have so many ideas that we don't know where to start. I just want to squirt some out and play with it. Thomas wants to plan (sigh) it all out before he does anything.

I'm going to look around for a beginner project somewhere.

Have you seen my hand?
Posted On 09/21/2007 22:51:48

So the roomie calls from Costco to see if I want some salsa (duh) and I ask "have you seen my hand?" Momentary silence and he wisely decides to bypass the smart remarks and instead, asks "Which one?" "The long one". "Last time I saw it, it was on the breakfast bar sticking out of a jar." "Bummer, it's not there. Hope I didn't leave it in bed and it's getting smooshed". "I'll help you look when I get home".

Yes, he found my hand for me. I'm thinking it's a good thing we have thick walls or my neighbor wouldn't let me play with his JRT any more.

Btw, the hand is made of papier mache.

New Group
Posted On 09/20/2007 14:31:09
I started a new group here called Haunted Clay. My experience is primarily with polymer clay, but discussions of paper clay or earthen clay or even PMC are welcome. It will be what we make of it. Look for it in Hobbies and Crafts or drop me a line and I'll send you an invite.

Poor JOL

My poor jack. The most fragile one has to be the one that gets banged up.

Tiny TOTs
Posted On 09/15/2007 16:01:37

We haven't had any TOT's here in our complex for years. This year, my 2 yo grandson will be coming with some of his little friends and I want to make goodie bags for them. They're all vy little, so I'm concerned about safety.

These kids will only be going to the homes of people they know and we're all putting goodie bags together for them. Looking for more ideas. Candies that can go in are limited due to choking hazards and upset stomaches.

Here are my ideas so far:

  • GITD necklace
  • Halloween crayons
  • Halloween finger puppets
  • bouncy ball
  • Tootsie Rolls
  • Safety suckers
This is probably enough, but I'd like to have another option or two for candy. Emphasis will be on toys, but they have to have some sweets!

Make your own horns
Posted On 09/13/2007 18:54:50

My friend Hava came up with a tutorial to make your own horns out of polymer clay. Even if you've never opened a pkg. of pc before, you can do this.

Please let me know if you make some for yourself! I'd love to add a gallery to this page.

Motivating The Fool
Posted On 09/13/2007 16:23:32

Thomas, (Jeffery Mouse) is aka Tarot Fool, Foolish One or just The Fool. One example of why is the two artificial pumpkins that have been gathering dust since the after Halloween sale from 2006, uncarved.

We have a computer full of patterns for him to use and all the tools we need. I can hear them laughing at him. I would love for all of you to send him messages persuading, goading, cajoling or harassing him into carving them for THIS year.

Let the harassment commence!
