I miss you . . .
Posted On 05/22/2007 08:59:04

Hello guys & ghouls!!!

I just wanted to drop a few lines to say hello and that I miss you guys so much. I think about you everyday. I know I haven't been around much lately and I want you to know that I haven't forgotten you. I have just been extremely busy building props.

I get up every morning at 7:30 am and get started on props. I work everyday til nearly midnight. I have so many pulled muscles I've lost count. Even my pulled muscles have pulled muscles, lol. I wish I could report that I am almost done. Sadly I am no where near done. Time is creep'n up on me and with so much left to do all I can do is work, work, work. No pain no gain right!?! Lol!!!

For those of you who have sent me comments I sincerely thank you and keep them coming, hehe. I may not have time to send comments but when I get the chance I do read those sent to me. When the big props are out of the way I will have more free time. I'm hoping that won't take too much longer but the road still looks long and very, extremely painful at this point, lmao.

Anywho - you all take care and I will pop in whenever I get the chance. Keep up the good work and don't forget to remind yourself that its worth it, hehe.

Happy Hauntings . . . Tina

Not a good start . . .

Hello Guys & Ghouls,

Well heere we go again with the tropical systems. Seeing how it is not even hurricane season yet this storm has me a bit on edge. Last year we had several systems that put our haunt work on hold and caused too many rain-outs for rehersals and even our opening night. I am worried that with a storm so early in the year that we may be in for a bad year of hurricanes. I hope I'm wrong and pray that I'm wrong. Our haunt is counting on a hurricane free year. Or at the very least a wimpy hurricane season, lol.

Fingers crossed!!!

Yard Sale - lucky find . . .
Posted On 04/23/2007 08:02:10

Hiya Guys and Ghouls!!!

Over the weekend I had a total blast but you won't believe what I found at a yard sale. I was browsing around an inside the house sale when I spotted two wig heads and 3 black wigs. I got excited because this could mean less work in creating Snow White. I looked around a few more minutes then asked one of the ladies about the heads/wigs. She first gave me a high price for the wigs so I explained to her what they were to be used for. She quickly changed her mind and gave me a great deal $5 for the heads/wigs. But now for the best part . . .

I began talking about Halloween and haunts with this lady. Through talking with her I found out Halloween is also her favorite holiday. In fact I found out she has horses and made appearences as in haunts before. So with our current theme of twisted fairy tales I would like to very proudly announce our latest addition to our haunt . . .

Lisa McMahon appearing as : "The Headless Horseman"

BUT that's not all, lol. It get's better still. Lisa and her friend will also be helping us with our haunt. They has volunteered to help build, paint or whatever we need help with to get the haunt ready for opening night. They are even going to recruit some of there other friends as actors. Now how cool is that??? I can already tell ya this year is going to be way better than last year. I'm no longer a one woman show, hehe.

I would like to pass along a bit of friendly advice here. When you are going out in search of prop materials talk to the people around you. Tell them what you are using your new found materials for. You just might be surprised at who is listening. It could be the one you are talking to or someone standing nearby. This is the 3rd time I have found people for my haunt at yard sales. I found a lady last year and this year I have had 2 lucky sales back to back. So strike up a conversation about haunts . . . cause haunt potentials are listening.

Scare ya later . . . Tina

Getting my ducks in a row . . .

Hello Guys & Ghouls!!!

I have been hard at work making all the right connections for this year's haunt. From setting up advertising right down to portable toilets. During a conversation I had with someone today I was given a really cool idea. A lady asked me today if I had considered having the Red Cross set up during our haunt for a blood drive. The thought had never crossed my mind before but what a great idea!!!

When I got home I did contact the Red Cross and ask if it was something they would even consider. I am now waiting for a Rep to contact me with more information. What I can tell you so far is that you need to know if you can get at least 20 to 40 donating people to host a blood drive. I will let you more as soon as I know more.

Until the details come in take some time to think about having a blood drive during your haunt. What better place to find a group of donors than a haunt. Since haunters tend to rally a gathering of more people in a single night than most concerts why shouldn't we help with blood donations??? After all giving the gift of life is the greatest chairity one could donate to. So think about!!! Please!!!

Happy Haunting . . . Tina

Hi Guys and Ghouls!!!

It kills me to be writing this blog but I must. I will be going offline for a while. I can't tell you how long or when I'll be back online. At this point I just don't know. I love you all so very much and I'm going to miss you every single day. Sunday night will be my last chance to be online. So I will be sure to check and reply to message then. Other than that I can only say I will do my best to check in whenever humanly possible. At the very earliest possible moment I can be back online I will blog you a shout.

Before I end this blog I would like to ask you all to do me one favor . . . Please do your part to help Pete and the Mods' to keep this site up and running a clean Halloween site. Pete works very hard and the Mods' take a lot of crap sometimes. But if everyone does their part this site will continue to RAWK and grow. Much love to all of you. Take care of yourselves, each other and HauntSpace.

Love you loads and will miss you much . . . Tina

Jackpot again . . .

Hello Guys and Ghouls!!!

I just had to tell you all that I hit the jackpot again. I went back to the exact same construction site as last weekend. This time the guys on the crew were bringing lumber to me and even helping me load it. It was so awesome!!!

We had a good time today too. At one point a guy working on the roof put 3 nails in nearly a full sheet of OSB then pulled them out saying, "Ah give it to her." That was the coolest thing. We were falling out laughing. I can't tell you how many times I told all the guys "Thank you". I'm sure it was a lot though.

We loaded the truck to the max too. I told the guys to make a pile of anything else they had for me and I would return tomm. They were stacking as we left. Needless to say it was a ROCK'N good dd'n day. I can't wait to see what all they have for me tomm. We were able to get a few packs of shingles today too. Now I just need to get myself busy building those shacks, lol.

Hope all of you are having a day that RAWKS as much as mine!!!

Take care and TTYS . . . Tina

Jackpot!!!

Hello Guys and Ghouls!!!

I finally had the chance to do some dumpster diving and I hit the jackpot on wood. I found a new development going up and hit their trash bins. I was actually shocked at the amount of wood we found. After making three truck loads we now have enough wood to build our shacks for the haunt trail. I plan to get started over the weekend.

One other important item we found were fiberglass fence posts. I haven't decided yet on what I will use them for. I could paint them and use them for graveyard fence . . . or . . . I could use them as a support base for zombies and corpses. Still tossing ideas around at the moment.

Anywho . . . I am planning on re-visiting those trash bins this weekend. If I find even half of what I did last weekend I'll be happy, lol.

Haunt ya later . . . Tina

The best news . . .
Posted On 02/25/2007 13:09:47
Hello guys and ghouls!!!

I just had to most rewarding news that any haunter could ask for and wanted to share it with you.

My daughter, Troi and I ran into town for some haunt materials. Just your average trip to Walmart. On the way back Troi noticed the local coffee shop had a help wanted sign and asked me to stop for her. So I did. I was going to sit in the car and wait for her but she begged me to go in. I didn't want to but I did and boy am I glad that I did.

As soon as we walked through the door I saw a man, Mr Willis, that I have know for a very long time but have been out of touch with for quite a while. I ran up to give him a hug and we got to talking. When he asked what I had been up to and I told him about the haunt he told me something I had never known about him . . . Mr. Willis ran a pro haunt for 5 years!!!

We sat down to talk about it while Troi inquired about the job. Mr. Willis began telling me about his experience and tossing out ideas. I was so excited I could hardly contain myself. I blurted out, "So would you help with my haunt?" to which he replied, "Of course." You could have knocked me over with a feather. After we talked more in detail about the haunt Mr. Willis has agreed to be our new haunt production manager.

How cool is that!?!

So now I have an experienced professional on my team and I could not be happier. And to think it all started with a job for Tori. Talk about everything happens for a reason - WOW!!! It just doesn't get any more "reason" oriented than that, lol.

Hope you all have a great week!!!
Take care of you . . . Tina
