I'm back . . .
Posted On 02/07/2007 20:28:22
Well guys and ghouls I have to say it feels soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good to be back online. I've missed each and every single one of you so much. I haven't finished unpacking everything just yet but I'm all moved in to say the least. I've got some free time for a while so I'm sure I will be spending it here with all of you. Time for me to play catch up, lol.

I won't go into details right now but I think the haunt may remain in the same location after all. Its still too soon to say for sure but I will post as soon as I know more. I can tell you that if the haunt is to happen this year I am majorly behind already. With the move I haven't had the time to focus on anything. Now that things are settling down I fully intend to get back into focus. Time for me to get some progress made on the props, the script and everything else. I will say that I'm glad I got started on things right after last years haunt was over or else I would be in big trouble about now, lol.

Anywho - just wanted to let you all know that I'm back in full swing and ready to tackle whatever comes at me. In spite of what I've just been through 2007 is still gonna be the best year I've had yet. I'll make sure of it, hehe.

Here I go again . . .

Ok guys and ghouls looks like I will be moving after all. Not that I want to but things just worked out that way. I will be offline for a while. Not sure how long I'll be offline but I promise to get back as soon as possible. I also have no idea what this will mean for my haunt at this time. As soon as I do know I'll post it.

I'll be online until Monday morning so I'll do my best to pop in sometime tomm. I'll miss you all very much while I'm gone.

Take care ya'll . . . Tina

HELP !!!!
Posted On 01/03/2007 19:44:10
Okay guys and ghouls I need your help. I'm about to pull my hair out looking for an extremely scarey lion costume. Since we are doing the fairy tale theme we need to have the animal costumes as scarey as possible. We found an awesome rabbit costume at FrightCatalog.com called Peter Rotten Tail. Now we need a lion just as scarey as that rabbit.

So if anyone can help me find a lion that is sure to scare the pants off our visitors please let me know. And if you need an example of just how scarey take a look at the rabbit costume . . .

http://www.frightcatalog.com/Halloween-Costumes/Scary+Costumes/Peter+Rottentail+Costume-1104150/

I sure hope somebody knows where to find lion as scarey as that. I'm at a total loss.

Thanks in advance . . . Tina

Off Topic for a Good Cause . . .

Dear Guys and Ghouls,

This subject is off topic but I strongly feel it is something that must be done. Once you have read the story I'm sure each of you will agree that it is worth while. I don't think anyone here could deny the importance. Please read carefully and those interested in validating may follow the provided links at the end of this posting. As most of you already know how I feel about raising funds for worthy causes. What you are about to read is as worthy a cause as one could ever possibly imagine. I trust that each of you will take this story to heart as you read it. I want to thank each and every single one of you for your understanding in advance.

Read below . . .

A family in our community is struggling this holiday season. Little more than a month ago their home and everything they had was destroyed by a fire. The family was forced to live in a small camper at the home of a local teacher as they had no where else to go and only the clothes on their backs. They were just getting settled into the camper only to have an even more tragic event strike the family two weeks later when three of the children were killed in a horrible crash on November 5th, 2006.

The children lost were their youngest daughter 16 year old Jessica Stoddard, along with two of her older brothers Joseph Stoddard, Jr. 28 and 18 year old Brandon Bland.

This hits home so hard for our family for many reasons. Not only because they were members of our community but Jessica was a close friend of my daughter, HaunterBewere. The girls shared a locker at school and Tori had a hard time knowing Jessica's things would be in there waiting for her. It is also hard because the garage where my hubby works got the wrecker call and each day we see what remains of the car as we pass by. Knowing all the tiny details of a crash isn't so bad when you don't know the people involved personally. When you do know them it can be torture on a daily basis. But the story does not end here. Please continue reading.

Shortly before the house burned Brandon had received an insurance settlement. Instead of putting the money in the bank his first order of business was to take care of his family. He used his money to purchase a modular home for his mother and siblings. He paid cash in the amount of $35,000.00 for the new home. Brandon then bought a car and took out a $100,000.00 life insurance policy on himself with his mother as beneficiary. But unfortunately tragedy was not yet finished with the family as another crushing blow was delivered.

The final papers had not yet been signed, closing the deal, and now their mother will not be receiving the home her son intended her to have. And since Brandon and his siblings were killed merely four days after the fact their will not be any insurance money paid to his mother. The money that he spent so wisely is now lost forever in the greed of the business world. In total the family lost $200,000.00 that was so desperately needed.

The reason I am posting this blog is to plead to each and every person out there who wishes to help this family. A trust has been set up in the mother's name to help her rebuild and try to move on. A close friend of ours has agreed to donate his time a construction crew to build a home for the family but building materials, furniture, household goods and clothing are still needed. If you are interested in sending money donations to this family please let me know. I will provide you with the address where donations are to be sent. I sincerely thank each of you for taking the time to read this in its entirety. As stated before it is something very near and dear to my heart. Again I thank you in advance . . . Tina

I'm staying !!!
Posted On 12/08/2006 09:52:34
Hello again guys and ghouls !!!

I've got some really awesome news. After a lot of stress, work and worry i won't be moving after all I can't even begin to tell you all how happy, not to mention lucky, I feel right at this moment. I could do back-flips and hand-stands all day long about now, lol. Anywho . . . I will do my best to make a long story short in telling you how "staying" came about.

The house was scheduled to be moved on December 11th so I went to pick up my permits. I ran into issues at the permit office because the man who owned the lot owed the county a bill. ( strike one ) I went to the guy and told him about it and he refused to pay the bill. This meant I could not get permits to set up my house once it was moved. ( strike 2 ) At the same time that was going on my hubby was at the new location trying to mark off where the house would sit - a county requirement. As it turned out my house was too long for the property in the first place. ( strike 3 ) Now I'm having to "un-move", lol, everything we moved there back to here - batting 1000 now eh,lol.

To sum it all up here I had to go make arrangements to stay where I am. trust me when I say it did not hurt my feelings by any means. I didn't want to move in the first place. Or not yet I should say. Maybe later on down the road but not yet and not on someone else's terms for sure. So now I can stay here, go ahead and purchase the land and be happy in knowing I get to have Christmas in my own house this year. Talk about your Christmas miracles, lol.

Aside from Christmas the best news is that I will get to continue the haunt in the same location each year. I was very worried about finding a new location when we were going to have to move. Now I can breathe a sigh of relief for my haunt as well as my returning actors. Words cannot describe how good it feels to know life as you knew it isn't changing in a moment's notice.

Now that things are getting back to normal around here I will be back online in full swing just as promised. I can't wait to catch up,lol. I've missed you all sooooooooooo much!!! I'll be making updates to my page and the site in the next few weeks so be sure to look for those. Until then I hope this blog finds each of you healthy and hauntingly happy.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS . . . Tina

The Move . . .
Posted On 11/27/2006 13:57:39
Ok guys and ghouls I can finally give you an update on the move. The house will be moving in two weeks. So needless to say it will be right on top of Christmas. Because of Christmas I probly won't get back online until at least January. I dred this move but now look at it as just another part of life. I hated the idea at first but its starting to grow on me a little bit, lol.

I will do my very best to check in during the day or at night when I have a chance. I won't make any promises though. I've been working so hard everyday that even my sore spots have sore spots, hehe. A full day of deep knee bends and squats may be good for losing weight but boy does it bite back the next day. So if nothing else I should at the very least drop a few pounds by the time this is over with.

As for the haunt - I'm in limbo. We have permission to continue the haunt each year where it was hosted this year but . . . I am looking for land in a higher traffic area closer to my new location to host it. Not that I don't want to come back here each year, lol. I just think the haunt would do better in a location that isn't so far for the general public to attend. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens. I don't know about you but I hate the hurry up and wait game, lmao.

Well I guess thats about it for now. Hope everyone had a great turkey day. I wish you all the very best for Christmas and in the coming New Year. I look forward to getting settled in the new place so I can get back online in full swing. Not to mention having time to relax for a change. I think I've already forgotten what that is like, lol.

Anywho . . . bye for now and I'll check in as soon as humanly possible.

. . . Tina

Moving . . .
Posted On 11/08/2006 02:16:42
Hello guys and ghouls!!! Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be offline for a while in the very near future. We are relocating our house and that takes a whomping amount of time to accomplish. We don't know the exact date the move will take place but it will be soon.

I'll try to check in to see messages and send quick replies. Please don't feel I've ignored you if it takes me a while to get back to you. I have so much to do before they break down the house that I hardly know where to start, lol. I have so many plants to dig up, put into pots and re-plant at the new location it ain't even close to funny. Then there's all the packing of breakables, relocating animals and tons of other outdoor items. Some days I just want to crawl in a hole somewhere to hide, lol.

As for next years haunt . . . I don't know!!! We were planning to have it next year but with the move I may have to find another location to host the haunt. I pray this won't be the case but it is extremely possible. I will update you on the haunt as soon as I know myself.

Once the house has been disconnected from all utilities it may take a month or longer for them to be restored at the new location of the house. It all depends on what problems we may run into and how quickly the county approves the setup. Only after the approval will I have actuall power, lol. As I said before I will do my best to check in but if I don't get the chance its because I have a million things going on all at once. When I know the exact date the house will be moving I'll do my best to post it. I'll miss you all soooooooooooooooo much but I already can't wait to catch up when I get back on,lol.

Take care ya'll. I'll be back ASAP . . . Tina

Our haunt . . .
Posted On 11/02/2006 11:25:14
The haunt is over, Halloween has come and gone and next year's haunt awaits. For a first year haunt things went rather well. We had the usual tweaking that had to be done, we lost an actor or two along the way and then there were the minor mishaps and the cops. Yes I said the cops, lol.

We had to call the cops in when our haunt came to a sudden scretching hault as one of our female actors was grabbed by an unknown man. It turned out we had two idiots hiding in the woods scaring our scarers. After having to hault all groups going in for a thrid time we called the cops in to investigate. The cops came in with a K-9 Unit to find our two village idoits, lol. They did not locate the suspects so we decided to place two of our male actors near the girls for the duration. There we no problems after that. But what would a haunt be without all of that, lol.

The funniest part of having to call in the cops was when they were entering and leaving the woods. There were three of them and one was not a wodsy type person. He was jumping at the tiniest little noise. When they got to the location where the suspects were seen this one cop stood shining his light while the other two rushed off through the woods looking for the suspects. Then on the way out of the woods one of the cops hid behind a tree and scared nearly the life out of the skiddish one. His knees were almost hitting his chin he was jumping so high. The cop that scared him turns to me and says, "You can tell he ain't never been in no woods." I was laughing so hard I could barely breathe. I wish I had my camera in hand for that one!!!

Over all things did go better than expected. For being a first year haunt I am surprised that we had the number of people that we did. We had 150 to 175 visitors so that isn't shabby by any means. In fact it shows that this area was in need of such an event. This means, of course, that plans for neaxt year are already under way. I plan to have an all adult cast for next year and invite one of our younger volunteers, Drama student Kim, back for next year. The other teens will just have to wait and see, lol.

Hope you all had a hauntingly great Halloween and I look forward to talking to each of you through-out the year. . . Tina

Opening night . . .
Posted On 10/29/2006 16:30:23
We had a slow start last night and a few kinks but in all in went fairly well. I'm going to have to whip some teenagers into shape but I think we'll be okay. I would like to share with you what happened with two of our groups that went in. It's too funny not too,lol . . .

We had a group of women and a couple guys that went through that got pretty scared in the trail. When they got to our chainsaw scene they had a bit of a crash, lol. My hubby first came crawling out towards them with his bloody severed hand. The people in the group started backing up to get away from him. They were tripping over each other as they were backing up. Then when the chainsaw fired up they started running forward, still tripping over each other, pushing the guide. Needless to say the group ended up in a pile on top of each other, screaming and laughing, with hubby scrambling to keep from being crushed beneath them. Our actors in nearby scenes could hardly contain their laughter. No one was injured in this incident but one lady in the group did pee her pants, roflmao.

In our other funny moment I wish I had a video camera handy. It was our last group of the night and was only a man with his girlfriend. This again happened in the chainsaw scene. When the saw fired up the girl nearly took her boyfriend's head off his shoulders - she grabbed him by the head and wrapped her legs around him screaming. The entire time of which he was yelling at her to get off of him. None of the actors were able to contain the laughter on this one. And really who can blame them, lmao.

I think on Monday I will make it a point to walk through with as many groups as possible to do some video. I also plan to take my digital camera in to get some of the action up close. I've planned to hide myself near a few of our actors to snap some shots. I will be planting myself at that chainsaw scene for sure.

Happy Hauntings . . . Tina
