As I lay here at this ungodly hour trying to go back to sleep I had a great idea for a halloween display. Since this is the big election year why doesn't someone do an election themed display. You could have certain monsters running and make a campaign fpr them. Ghoulish slogans and and sings peppering the yard . Maybe set up a haunted voting booth that people could actually vote it . Even do a skeletol Uncle Sam. Or you could have a skeletol version or the real political partys. A blucky with big ears for Barack. Another one with a hair do like Cindy Mccain. I know this isn't an oringinal idea so if any body has all ready done this I would love to see pics. Now that I got this out of my head maybe I could go back to sleep. Have a frightful day.
Because of TS Fay I haven't been able to leave my house without reenacting the tornado scene from Wizard of Oz . I decided to have a mini halloween craft party. I put on my skull girl earring and dug out the paints, duck tape and my drill. I stared on the skeleton lamp post. I have most of the body on now just have to put the legs on , wire the light and then paint the sucker. I have decorated three bird houses for my halloween village and am now waiting for the paint to dry on them to be able to put on the finishing touches. Then after dinner I'm going to start on the hills for the village it's self. Iam so glad I got started on this stuff . Seeing the orange, purple and black paints has completely erased my bad mood from yesterday and put me into the Halloween spirt again. Now I'm off to watch the morons on tv who think it is a great idea to go swimming in the middle of a tropical storm. Stay safe everybody.
What a week this has been. Or more like week and a half. It started with me going to visit my honorary grandmother for a week. She lives about 2 hours away from me in Ocala, fl. I was going up there to help her go through a couple of sheds and have a yard sale. But when I got down there all it did was rain non stop. So instead we hit a lot of thrift stores and yard sales that other people willing to stand in the rain held. Which was a good thing because I found a Douglas tree ( the kind that sings. You know what I'm taking about?) and some good chrismas decorations that I might make into Halloween decorations .Then, finally on Saturday we were able to go though the shed from with I got more stuff for my Halloween display. I went down there with a suitcase and came home with a packed van. While I brought home lots of stuff none of it was on the list of things I needed to get for the display. Then I came home . Ever since I came home it has been one thing or another . Before I left we started dogsitting for a neighbor that left town for and unkown period for time . What we didn't know when we started dogsitting was that Leyla ( the dog ) was not potty trained and the she has a skin condition that caused her to lose most of her fur. Now in June I reupholsered my couches in a lovely golded fabric . Do you see where I'm going with this? Yep, she turned my new chaise into her personal toilet. Then, when I left her skin condiction was only centered on her head but when I got back it covered or uncoverd most of her body.I was only gone a week! Finally ,after a month of dogsitting her owners came and got her yesterday. They have meds for her so she'll be good as new soon. Next , Sunday night (two hours after I got home my computer crashed and burned. Taking it in Monday morning to be fixed, they said it would only take a few hours and to come back at noon. When I got back last night, they didn't know what happened to it but was all fixed ,and went to go online the computer was still broken. When I finally got it up and running I learned that they erased every single thing on my computer. Pictures , my favorites, ebooks and even the screan saver. Luckly I put most of my pics on a flash driver a few weeks ago.Third thing that has happened is I am UNDER A HURRICANE WARNING ! But I like hurricanes and have been through 5 so far, so that doesn't bother me . The no electicity for three weeks part I mind a little bit ,but love combing the beach after a big storm to see what it had dug up part I like. But the absolute worst thing to happen to me this week was after hitting a the stores that I know has their Halloween decorations out by now only to find none have finish putting EVERYTHING out yet. They have all put out little teaser shelfs with one or two things on them. I swear the mangers of these stores have it out for me. Ihave only two weeks to get all indoor Halloween projects finished ,on top of painting the kitchen /dinning room, before I leave for Ohio for two weeks at the first of September. Because when I get back we are decorating inside the house. We don't decorate the outside till October so there be less time for people being able to steal our props. We don't exactly live in the best of neighboor hoods. So by they time I get finished with every thing I will be ready for a straight jacket and the men with butterfly nets.
Hi , every body. I finally got started on my mud monster and he is coming out so good. Well, as good as he could look in just a pvc pipe form and hand , which I also made. The hand , I mean. I also started making batches of paper mache pulp but I lost the reciepe for how to make it into clay and now can't find the web page that had the orginal reciepe. AUGH! You would think that I'd save the page on my bookmarks but did I do that nooo. Dumb@$$. One piece of really good news is that when I cornered a Big Lots cashier she said that their Halloween stuff was coming in on Wednesday's truck.Which was two days ago. So they should be putting their stuff out soon. ( I'm doing my happy dance) . Hopefully by the end of August all the stores here will have put out all their Halloween . Halloween is finally on it's way!. Now I'm off to play Dr. Fankenstein and bring life to new props.
Can somebody tell me the best place to find 2 cheap wiper motors? That the shipping wouldn't cost as much as the motor it's self. I called my local used auto parts store and they wanted $40 a piece for them.
Since I have talke about the list and will continue talking about is I decided to share the LIST and tell every body what is on it .For the outside . The past to years we have had a dead guy in the for lawn with and mower running him down. This year give the guy a make over and add kicking legs to him and have a corpsefied blucky pushing the mower. My mom wanted to do a redneck biker chick mowing him down and I wanted to do a bride moving him over hand dress him in a tux. When nether of us like the others idea the bluck was a compromise. But as I write this I wonder what I could do to make the mower look possessed. Hum, next year. Next is updating a witch that I made last year and make it so it can stir her cauldron. Third ,making boarded up windows that won't need to be screwed on. Fourth duplicating a lamp post that I found on Fright catalog. Fifth, is making some sort of gate, but thats a, if we have any money left kinda project.Oh , I almost forgot , the hanging paper mache spiders that are going on to the porch. Now for the inside : I am enlageing our Halloween village. I'm going to turn our kitchen into a fortune tellers tent. Then, I found a project called mud monster on Monter page that I'm doing .Also I'm duplicating the go blow vampire from Fright catalog. Ten projects total but each project has a mini project list to go with the big project. I'm going to be busy so I better get started.
