Dot room lighting
Posted On: 09/02/2008 06:50:19

Whew!  I FINALLY got my husband to join me in cleaning out the garage so I can have my haunt in it this year!  He gave me the green light!

But I am having problems with another sort of lighting.  I want to make a "dot" room, with black walls decorated with random spiders and spiderwebs.  And my daughter will dress in a black costume to match the walls and scare folks when the "walls" come alive!  I thought that we would light the area with blacklight and fluorescent painted spiders, but my daughter thinks that a strobe light would be more effective.  Any thoughts on how to light this area of my haunt?

I've seen it done both ways & blacklight is the way to go.

Also if you have the spiders not only hanging vertically but, scattered sparcely on the walls. Have the "hidden person" with spiders on them, to blend in. Don't forget to hang some spiderwebbing. It can be placed anywhere with the help of velcro dots.

black light is the best  way to acheve the effect you are looking for.  The  effect is best acheved coming into the area from total darkness.  Good luck I hope that this helps.

We had a room very close to that.....Pokadot room!  Blacklight is the most effective!  You can just see the actor (My daughter) in the corner!
