Started off as a simple yard Haunter, When I got involved with the local Historical Society.
I made a comment once that the location would be perfect for a haunt, they said 'Sounds good, why don't you do it?'. DOH!
Next thing I know I am putting on a mediocre haunt for the SCVHS. It was not as good as I hoped and had not planned on doing it the next year, but a local yard haunter extraordinary called the Historical Society to donate his home haunt to us, and being our local 'Haunt Expert' I was asked to check it out.
After some discussion, the gentleman not only donated his haunt, he became the Haunt Master for 'Heritage Haunt'. In the process he got 3 other home haunters plus my self to give up haunting our homes, and now we haunt the Heritage Junctions in Santa Clarita (Newhall) California.
Last year we had were successful in terms of what we wanted to put on. We could have done better in terms of attendance, but we had many obstacles to overcome, freeway closures, gale force winds, rain, and wild fires. all in the course of two weeks.
Despite all our issues we had rave reviews and expect to more than triple our attendance this year. Comments given to us were that we were scarier than either Universal Studios or Magic Mountain.
We have just started plans for this year.
Anyone who is local to Santa Clarita in California and is interested in helping out, check out our Yahoo group.
Here you can get information on when we gather for planing and building, and eventually the actual haunting.
