I need some help
Posted On: 09/10/2007 16:51:31
Maybe the ladies could help me with this, but guys if you know feel free :)
I need a corset for my costume this year. I do plan on getting a nice "real deal" corset in the future, but the problem is those are usually in the 200-400 dollar range. I want a corset that doesn't look cheap, but is still affordable. Does anyone know where I can find one?

I know Charlotte Russe used to have some, but I checked their site and couldn't find a thing. I'm thinking maybe Victoria's Secret?

Anyway, I'm going to be a Victorian Vampire. I have everything else planned out, the corset is the only thing I'm having trouble with.

And well, since we're on the topic, any suggestions of some realistic looking fangs?

Thanks

You should be able to find fangs at any Halloween retail or theatrical stores. Spencer Gifts & Spirit stores would be another suggestion. Please post some pics when get it all together. Thanks!

Have you tried checking out some of the sites that sell costumes online? I know you could probably get something at Spirit Halloween Store. Victoria's secret probably has that too, but you'll pay more there. See if they have an online catalog too, and check styles and prices.

And the fangs Chris talked about are great. I have some of those too. There are also kits, and how-to sites for molding fangs to fit over your own teeth. Sorry I can't tell you the names, but you could do a search on it. (I use Google, and have good luck with searches.) Good luck finding the corset. That's a great costume idea!

I'm a guy ... but I do musical theatre so I might be of some help... if you are any good at Sewing I know our Seamstress from our theatre found a pattern in the fabric section of walmart... I'm sure you might still be able to find it there or at a fabric store like Joannes or Sirs.

As for the fangs I can really help you. Go to Spencers, Hot Topic, or Party City and around this time of year they should sell the fangs that just go on to your incisors *sp* ... you know the fang teeth. Anyways they should come with a package of junk to mix and 'mold to your own teeth' ... this dosen't work ... throw it a way and buy some denture adhesive... It works great... just a dab in each one and your good to go. I would advise against eating wtih them in... since that is kind of a choking hazard... but as far as drinking, talking, etc they stay in pretty well!

I hope this helps!
