A limited budget usually sucks, but it has made me look at things like this in a different way. Now I'm looking at spooking up all kinds of things.
What a great idea! I never thought of doing this to a nutcracker and will be on the lookout at the Salvation Army for one too now to "borrow" your idea....lol
