Every town has an Elm St!
Posted On 11/03/2007 22:34:05

This year I dressed up as Freddy Krueger. Now being a fan of the character I refuse to wear a cheesey $20 mask and one of those cheap plastic gloves. I purchased my mask from the now defunct LatexFX back in 04. I also purchased a better quality repro glove the same year. Now from past experience I have discovered that when done right Freddy gets the best reaction compared to all the Horror Icons out there. So the gag that I pulled on the kids was that they would come up to the front of the house and get their candy than either myself {nonfreddy} or my wife would send them to the back to see the setup. After I am out of their sight I would run into the house throw on my mask glove & hat. By that time the kids have already made their way to the back. So i would go through the back door doing my best Freddy laugh and than the kids would start running off screaming down the driveway. The Further into the night we got the more into character I would become. My house has aluminuim siding so I would take the claws and run down the house the whole length of the driveway and I would almost get movie quality screeching which beefed the freakout factor for the kids. Now i should let you know the VAST majority of the kids that I scared were teenagers so it wasn't like I was preying on little kids.

2 of the nights scares were the most memorable. These 2 were the first & last of the evening. The first 1 consisted of a group of 4 kids ages ranging 14-5. Keep in mind this was the nights first victims so I had absolutly no idea what kind of reaction I would get. So I came out in full Freddy gear and these kids were absolutely TERRIFIED! I mean they were screaming & crying in just sheer terror. Now there is a 4 foot chainlink fence seperating my yard from the neighbors and kids started to jump the fence. Including the the 5 yr olds! Now never in my life i ever thought that I would see the day that a 5 yr old would try and accomplish climbing over a fence bigger than them. Once I saw how scarred they were I took off my mask and showed them THAT in  fact it was only a mask and tried to explain to them it was only pretend. During this time they were still crying hysterically and one of the little got their book bag that they were using as a candy bag stuck on the fence and was tugging on frantically tugging at it trying to get away. So i FINALLY got them calmed and gave them all a handfull of candy each because i felt so bad. After this while they were walking down my driveway my daughter's knucklehead guy friends came down the driveway wearing my Jason mask and my City Of The Living Dead/ Hell Of The Living Dead zombie mask. So off they went back into the backyard screaming and crying AGAIN! Ready to jump the fence AGAIN! I yelled at the 2 boys to go back into the house so I can calm try to calm them down. I gave them more candy and they went off to continue Trick R Treating.

The last scare of the night was memorable also but the reaction wasn't as extreme. Three teenagers came up to the house 1 guy and 2 girls. My wife told them to go in the back to check out our setup as usual. The one girl DID NOT want to go because she was already freaked from cenobite Pillars Of Pain display. Her friends finally convinced her to go in the back. I went in and pulled a Clark Kent into Superman schtick. After you do this 30 or so times it starts to become second nature. Anyway I came out to "greet" them as they entered the driveway and than they took off running when they saw me. The nervous girl went off screaming and did not stop running for about a good 2 -3 blocks . Her friends waited for about a good 15 minutes for her to comeback. When she did FINALLY decide to make her way back her friends were laughing at her telling her how funny her reaction was. She basically told them that she didn't think it was funny and that she was so scared that she though she was going to soil herself. Her friends told said that they were going to to tell everybody at school about how scared she got.

Well as the title suggests Im done. Well, almost. Went to Walmart bought some tombstones to fill up some space. Also purchased electical cords a few big spiders and Spidey 3 on non Halloween related note. I than came home added some more great stuff and paint to the Pillars. Next I setup my tombstones and the store bought ones . Both stands on the big ones broke because they are made out of cheap plastic. So I made  stakes out of various pieces wood and great stuffed them to the tombstones. waited for those to dry while I tore apart the house for the other stake floodlights i had but, to no avail. So off to Walmart I went again. Came back to setup the Pillars & The Cenobite along with everything else. Noticed I need another floodlight because 1 isn't enough for a cemetary scene . So tomm I need to go back to walmart buy another floodlight and hope that i have more than 1 working fog machine

First off I am alive and have been lurking around the site. I just moved to a new place at the begining of the month which has been quite exhausting. I am setting up for Halloween but I only have the front setup thus far. Im in the process of setting up the back since i will have the Trick R Treaters going to the back for candy. Did some work on that area yesterday in the back. Ripped up some sheets bloodied them and hung them from the garage. I also made some monster spiderwebs out of beef netting which really turned out better than I had hoped. I am currently repainting a head ripper animated prop a bought from Spencer's in 04. I still need to do some touch up work up on the Pillars Of Pain. When I have everything finished I will post pics.

MORDRID SMASH!

Well here i am venting while covered head to toe in plaster. The last 2 weeks have been absolute ball breaker! My landlord cashed our rent check 1 week early after we gave him specific instructions to wait until the following week. terms in which he agreed to. Therefore causing us 400 bucks in overdraft fees for nickel and dime transactions since we rarely carry cash. I had utilities to pay that week. Than utilities wanted more money therefore sending out another disconnect notice. So after shell out 2 more hundred plus another 100 for cable/phone & internet. So i have to wipe out my savings for that. We don't get paid for another 2 weeks and that is going to go to rent. I have halloween supplies i need to get.Plus i want to make a chiller and im not even sure if that is going to become a reality. 3 of my tombstone broke due the wind over the last 2 days. Not to mention i just wasted 25 lbs of plaster trying to replace them. {If anyone wants 40lbs block of dried plaster just let me know}Plus we were planing on going back up tp lake george in Oct for fright fest now that looks doubtful. Im just so pissed off and agrivated right now its not even funny. I guess on a bright note i got the FCG bugs worked out. My Pillars will be finished even though I have to rape a Bart skeleton to do it. BOTTOM line there is just so much more i want to accomplish its just seems things just do not want to work out.

SORRY IF BUMED ANYONE BUT, I JUST NEEDED TO VENT.....

WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE {literally}!

I don't really believe in writing about my views on life and such for the general public to view because i don't reaally think anyone cares since real life is BORING. We all go to work shit, and eat. We all deal with people who we consider idoits on a everyday basis. So basically when you strip away the fine details all of your lifes are basically the same. Well something I consider out of the ordinary happened to me which compelled me to write about it. Two days ago something really disturbing happened to that has left me unnerved since. I went to bed Tues night/Weds morning 2-3 o'clock in the morning. I was listening to a podcast of Coast To Coast Am with George Norey which is more or less a late night paranormal radio show that deals with a wide variety of topics. So like i was saying i was listening to the show on my ipod and they were doing Full Moon open lines. When the show usually does people call in with the scarey supernatural experiences. While listening to the show i fell asleep around 3-3:30. I "thought" i woke up around 4:30 and standing in front of my bed was big black shadowy figure wearing wide brimmed hat. I looked at it for a moment and than it threw something at me. I than screamed and "woke" up screaming. and sat up in bed for a few minutes trying to pull myself together. After a few minutes I finally decided i was dreaming. Now you have to understand I never in terms that one would consider reality. Especially dreaming about being in the same place i fell asleep in. This nightmare felt so real. Thats why Im having hard to getting over it. I mean I don't scare easily. I live and breathe pretty much all things Horror. I take joy in gving others a good scare. When I do have nightmares i usually just wake up but never wake up screaming. Like I said I don't scare easily.Fantasy doesn't scare me. I guess its just the fact that things that are not supposed exist could possibly be real. I guess that was the most frightening part of the whole thing
