I can't believe how hard it has been lately to keep up with all the things I want to get done. I have started several projects , with none of them completed. I have racing season starting up and my cars need to get ready. I had bad news today when my wife was in a car wreck and totalled her classic mustang. We both have things with our jobs that are calling for extra time spent. So, I may just take one thing at a time and try to resolve it , or I may just blow up. How do some of you find the time to converse on here so often and take care of so many irons in the fire? I suppose I could use some organizing help, but I'm kind of a loner on these things. I really want to spend more time on my haunting efforts, but I can't ignore other things that make me smile. Again, time is pressing, so I'm off.

ghosts

It is hard to tell how I do my crank ghosts differently than others - I just start with a foam head. Sometimes I add eyes that I got from a craft store (like the one that floats up and down in our back yard). The other one that beckons to you - Gus made her hand motion. The one that beckons to you - I just glued the material right to the head so she does not have the cowl of a hood or anything else and I really like the look. I also just bored a hole all the way through the head and kind of left the back open and covered with the material. It makes her eyes blue and you just get a hint that she has a face and eyes which makes it a little eerie. I overheard several of our "lookers" (we get 300-500 each night of October) comment about how eerie the ghosts were.
The one on the back of the headstone - I added some white hair, hollowed out her eyes and just painted the mouth black.
I also decided that my ghosts needed hands, so I cut them out of plastic, put a metal washer where the wire goes through and it just makes them look better to me.
My new ghost for Gus' next year project will amaze you along with the setting for it that he is working on.
Okay, I'm a total novice at all this stuff , but I'll try to muddle through it. 1. I'm a race fan, I race r/c cars and have for many years. 2. I have a custom Harley that I ride and show (I'll post some pictures ). 3. I am an ex-rock and roll drummer 4. I worked in the movie industry for 15 years. 5. I love animals 6.I am deeply in love with my wife ( I call her Tish ) She looks like Tish from the Addams family . 7. I am embarrassed by my lack of computer skills.
I've been asked recently about a number of my props and displays. Most are masks from Jeff Keim. The master of "Death Studios". The figures and dragon, demon, witches, and most of the rest of my stuff has been scratch built from a variety of materials. Most of the characters are animated including the dragon. My wife,"Tish" and I have been called the Orem, Utah Addams family by the local media, and we have fun all year working on and developing new scenes for the next season. My display is up and running every night in Oct., and I am presently working on next seasons display.
This has been a crazy year, with 3500 visitors on halloween night. I am already working on some new props for next season. I hope everyone had a great holiday and look forward to the next time around.
