Posted On 11/08/2008 15:05:36

Dont throw away your pumpkins
Posted On 11/06/2008 10:33:42

I problully should of posted this sooner but shoulda , coulda , woulda. Anyway. This year we bought five pumpkins  this year for the display but I didn't want to throw them away so I decided to make pumpkin pie with them .  Last night I made a test batch and I came out a lot better than I thought it would. Exept for being a little chunky because I didn't have a blender to puree the pumpkin  pulp  it was on of the best pies I have tasted.    http://www.pumpkinpatchesandmore.org/pumpkinpie.php is were I found the  how to's and the recipe. What a better way to keep your haunts spirt alive by eating it.

It's OVER :*(
Posted On 11/04/2008 20:27:42

I still can't believe it's over. No more spider web over evrything. No more horroified screams heard as the kids get of the school bus everyday. No more gummy eyeballs.   No more scrubing black, purple , and orange paint off my fingers every night. No more  Hallooooowweeeeeeeenn !!!!!!!All in all it was a great Halloween. The week before til the morning of was kinda crappy but once I started to get dressed and put on my makeup the petty little things that I had let get to me ( like the fog chiller not working , the paper mache spiders falling a part when it rained because I forgot to shlack ,to the non stop sinus/ allergy headache that won't go away) them fell away and I really enjoyed myself. I dressed up for the first time since I was eleven, passed out candy to the kids who where brave enough to come to the door and watched the Ghost Hunters special. Which I usally don't like to watch but I liked this one. A very tame evening for most fokes but I had fun. But now it is all over and I can't believe it. I feel like we just finished putting every up and out. Now  we have all our Christmas out but the Christmas tree and the outdoor decor. Sunday it tooked 7 hours to box up and  get moved to our storage center. The Monday and today up the Christmas went.  I feel like I am in shock . It's over.  I know I keep harping but  IT IS OVER!! Any way this year  I am starting as soon as Monster page gets updated to see what new things I can make then it  starts all over.  I have pages already of improvements and new   ideas already  that I can't wait to get started on. Halloween 2009 here we come!!!
Happy Hauntings ya!

desperate measures

I was talking to a friend of a neighbours to today and heard  a werid tale. It seems that there is  another house across town that goes completely all out for halloween . This guy even sprays is yard with a temporay black paint to give it a dead yard effect. Because of the nature of the paint it getts all over , shoes, hands, just all over. Anyway the reason I am telling you this is I know there are people here who've been having constant vandalism being done to  their yard. This could be a great way to catch the culprits. But only if you are completely feed up and about ready to take the rest of the week off to sit on your porch with a shoot gun. This would be a great way to save on time and bail money. Now on a happier note  every afternoon  screams of terror can be heard from the kids  who have to walk ( or run which is most often the case) pass my house when they get off the bus after school. It does a ghouls heart good.  I watch them from the window  just tearing pass the house and it is so funny. What is even funnier is that these kids that seem the most scare are the big kids. OH! and the other day  a group of kid walked by and  one  of the  girls was brave enough to come to the door and ask if we could turn on all the stuff.I guess she didn't think any body was home so when my mom opened the door the scream this this girl emeted coulda shattered glass and she jumped about a foot. It scared the bejesus out of my mom but mom's quick so all she said that was she wasn't that ugly and there was no reason to scream so loud.  It was  hilarious and I couldn't stop laughing . Isn't Halloween great.

the magic ingredient

A couple of blogs ago I said that almost all the props that  I had build at that  time has made me bleed. The chicken wire scratching up my arms  and stabbing my self with an exacto knife are just two examples of the things that have caused me to bleed. Anyway I noticed that the projects that I didn't bleed on are the ones that keep giving me trouble. Going out for no reason that I can see of or just plain  falling apart on me. The ones that I did bleed on are  working perfectly. Not one lick of trouble .  Make that is what is need to make a really great working prop. Just a drop of blood here or there.     Talk about putting your blood sweat and tears into a project.  Oh yah.... thanks everybody for your comments on my pics and sorry about the crappyness of some of them. I really have to find a camera that takes good night pictures. Know of any ? That's it for now. Later haunters,   Katie

where did the time go
Posted On 10/20/2008 20:46:00

Hi haunters, I can't believe how much I have let things slide this week / lately. I have over two hundred pics that I have been meaning to resize and upload ( not all of them are Halloween.) I haven't answered any of my comments or pm's.( Sorry about that to every one who has left me comments) Or watered any of my plants.  I don't know why I haven't been getting these things done. I haven't really beeen doing alot. Most of what I have been doing  has been just little puttering things .But I have finally got the ball rolling today by finishing the the last of the Halloween stuff done. It's done! It's done! It's finally finally done! I fixed the dracula that keeps falling apart (creap craping dracula) I fixed the lights  around the dead guy that keeps falling down. I fixed the witch that keeps getting knocked over. I fixed the light that keeps going out. Do you sense  a theme here.  I also finally got the stirring cauldron working ( the piece that held the wand broke but I wasn't going to Home Depot just for a 25 cents  but lucky my landlord had the piece I needed ) only to have the fan  motor in the cauldron  blow out. It was working perfectly for a couple of hours the nothing. Any way I also got all my pics resized so tonight  and tommorrow it's nothing but uploading pics for me. Now the last thing to do is the fog chiller . I guess I'm not as done as I thought.

thanks

I just wanted to do a quick blog to say thank you to all the people who responded to my moral delemma blog earlier this week.  Your help and understanding has made me feel better and helped me decide what to do about our display . We are going to keep it as it is. There is really nothing that associates it with the accident so it should be fine. I 'll post pics as soon as I remember to take them and have completely finished with the yard. Thank again everybody. Katie

Moral delemma
Posted On 10/13/2008 17:32:11

Hi haunters . Something happened today that was  very sad. This morning while getting ready to decorate the yard a state tropper stop by looking for family members of our  previous neighbours.  It turns out that the old neighbour was hit by a car this morning and killed. While I wasn't close to him but  my mother and his sister use to work together last year.  After deciding to continue decorating  we have run into a problem. Our whole yard display is centered around a dead guy with his bride  running him over with a lawn mower. This now  seems wrong and  I don't  know  if we should continue with this area.  We didn't keep in contact after he moved over  two months ago, but several of his friend still live on my street. Should we take the props down ? Try to modify them some how. Or just leave it alone. All the kids in the area look forward to our dead guy .We've put him out every year since we've  lived  here  and they even  bring their friends over to scare   them .    I  just don't know what to do. Have any of you faced something like this before?
