I bought my airline tickets today to go to Hauntcon in Houston, TX...April 24-27th. This is my 4th yr attending haunted attraction tradeshows/conventions. I am looking forward to getting out of the real world for a few days and having a good time. Hopefully I will see some of you there. Last week I posted a blog about my Father going into a nursing home. He was only there for two days, he did not like it and he returned home briefly. Yesterday he had me and one of his neighbors take him to a newer facility that is attached to a hospital. We took him there for a tour and he liked what he saw and he said he wanted to go there. We signed some papers and took him home and he was suppose to check in today. I worked graveyard shift and I went to my Dads this morning. I used my key to get in and I went into the kitchen and made some coffee, trying to be quiet because I did not want to wake him up. Two of his neighbors came over and we were visiting for about 20-30 minutes and we thought things didn't seem right. So we went and knocked on his bedroom door and it was locked, he didn't answer...so we pried the door open and he was dead. He committed suicide! He shot himself in the head! I called 911 and the State Police came and did their stuff and the coroner came and did his stuff and determined that he had been dead for about 12 hrs already. Anyway...needless to say it has been a nightmare day. I am not sure how much I will be on here in the next few days but I will probably try to get on and keep some sanity. Very sad, Goldie
